forgotten

I am still sick. I think people are starting to think I am making it up. But, alas. My sinus infection hasn't grasped the concept of "go away" yet...so I am still hackin' up my lung every 5 seconds. In result of my illness, I am going to shower you will pictures from my wedding reception. I thought I had posted about it, but then I realized I hadn't. How foolish of me! Without further ado...

After our wedding luncheon at Rigatony's, and a brief nap, we headed over to The Wright House so that I could get ready for pictures.
Elastic Waistband Lady made me flip-flops in my wedding colors...so I saved them to wear exclusively at my reception. Not only were they adorable...they were so comfy! Thanks EWB!

The "Face" Family

looking normal...can you believe it?

With Mama and Dad "Face"

yet again...no one making faces.

With the B* Family
they have a lot more people.

With my in-laws
Colleen had the cutest shirt ever. And my dress looks garfunkled.

With my bridesmaids.
I have no idea what I am doing.

Ted's Groomsmen
this is such an awesome picture. And I don't care what Omar says...the ties were amazing.

"Face" girls with Jenn!

Jenn is our amazing friend who we hired to plan the entire reception. I told her what I wanted, and she put it all together. She did such an amazing job. Everything was better than I ever imagined. Love her!

Drink Table
I love the tutus she made for the dress forms.

Veggies and crackers table.
I didn't get to try the dips or anything...but I heard the bacon cheddar dip was good? ha

Dessert and Cheesecake Tables!

Cheesecake Stand
Jenn made that cake stand. She took an old hat rack and welded table rounds to it. Amazing.

This was the "Cake"
I don't really care for cake, so I wanted cheesecake. Jenn decorated a few whole cheesecakes and displayed them beautifully.

Yummy Treats

Cheesecake, M&M's in apothecary jars, homemade tarts made by Sierra's mom and sister, and homemade sugar cookies by me!

One of the Centerpieces
There were black tables with damask table runners that had a ginormous chandelier-thing as a centerpiece. And then there were these centerpieces atop of a pink tablecloth with black tulle skirting. My mom sewed the pink tablecloths...and Jenn sewed the tulle skirting.

Guestbook Table
I spent the summer making the guestbook. So many people came to the reception, we ran out of pages in the guestbook. Crazy!

Cute sign
Jenn made another sign at the end of the table that said, "And they lived happily ever after..."

Close up of the flower arrangements Jenn made

Ted and I chillaxin minutes before the reception started..

No corner was un-decorated. Everywhere you turned there was damask, chandeliers, bling..etc.

Outside Food Tables
There was veggies and dip, cheese anc crackers, ham sandwiches on homemade rolls, chicken salad on homemade rolls, fruit trays...yah...I didn't get any :(

Thanks Mom & Dad and Jenn for making the reception perfect!

It looks fantastic! (The reception pictures, not the inside of your nose..)

I love the choices you made for decor. It works perfectly!

I hope you feel better, Lauren! It's no fun being sick. :(

Piece of advice from a good friend who suffers from sinus infections: do not take any cold or sinus cold meds, as they tend to harden the "goo" (her word, not mine) in your sinus, which does nothing to ameliorate the problem despite the fact that it seems to give you instant relief (and later issues). She recommends sleeping with a vaporizer by your bedside.

About the pics: do you know that pink, black and white are my favorite colors, both combined and by themselves? True story. Damask rocks, too, as does French toile . My book review page has a layout you might like. :D

Hopefully your sinus infection clears up for you. i had one for 3 weeks that led to double ear infections for me. Not. Fun. You have my sympathy!!

I love your center pieces! And I'm not a huge fan of cake myself. It's such a good idea to have something different!

I hope you feel better! And soon at that. :) I was sick this weekend with a stomach virus. Icky. It's horrible being sick!

I really love the picture with you and your bridesmaids. Whatever you were doing, it worked, because it is adorable!

I also love the one with Ted and his groomsmen. I love that it looks like they're talking about the latest Laker's game or something. Ted, "Dude, did you SEE that buzzer beater that Koby made?" {Okay...so I really can't think or talk or comment like a guy...but you get the point right?}

Everything looks fantastic! I love the colors and the damask together. You have such a great eye Lauren.

Love the sugar cookies and cheese cake idea, I am a huge birthday cake and wedding cake fan too, I crave it sometimes and I go buy a birthday cake even if its not anyones bday because I cant resist a good piece of cake! My girlfriends, daughters, husband, and family know if there is ever cake at any party they are at, they must bring me home a piece and I will be very happy and never turn it down no matter how full I might be! Hope you feel better soon, get lots of rest and eat lots of hot chicken noodle soup and O.J.!

I believe this was the best decorated reception that I've ever attended.
I remember at my reception Brandon was trying to drag me out the door while I desperately tried to get some food so I wouldn't faint on the way to the hotel.

Was that Jenn Palmer? JP did mine and had a similar over-the-top, deliciously beautiful style. That's why I ask. Anyway, if it's a different Jenn, she's the second amazing Jenn in the world---your reception photos look AMAZING. I was sad not to be there, but I would have totally crashed it if I'd been in the country. I know you wouldn't have cared that I didn't have an official invite.

I think it is so sad that none of the brides get any of the food... actually, since I had gotten sick in the conference center parking garage I had to eat something.. so I actually did get one of the little sandwiches. it was yummy! hurray for reception food! I love it!
