I was looking through my picture file on computer de Lauren this evening, and found a few pictures that tickled my fancy or sparked my bloggy interest....
1. The Bad Side Strikes Again!
So, sometimes I hate myself. 9 times out of 10, I hate myself solely because I forget and pose for a picture where my bad side is predominately showing. It makes me look like I have a piece of "chaw" in my mouth. It is quite depressing. I saw this picture and almost cried in pity for myself.

2. La Push Driftwood Snakey Pet
Did I ever tell you about the driftwood snake? I thought not. When I was in Forks, this lady let me pick out a piece of driftwood that "was where Bella and Jacob sat together on First Beach". I almost vomited in my mouth...too much cheese! Well, I took the piece without looking at it. I threw it up onto Ted's dashboard and never thought of it again. Well, when Ted came home from Seattle, he said on the long drive home, when he started to doze off he would talk to the piece of driftwood that looked like a snake. WTFriek?

3. January 23rd, 2008
My friends...one year ago, tomorrow, Ted came home from his mission. I can't believe it has been a year! And I can't believe I survived that many days of him being gone. (refer to sticker calendar). And yes...that was my dream Edward in the back. And yes..I was tan.

4. Yay for Ted getting home from his mission!
That was the craziest, coolest, happiest day of my life. I knew, when I saw him, that we would get married. Even though he had greasy hair and bloodshot eyes. I forgave him.

5. Costa Vida vs. Cafe Rio Test
My friends...I did the nicest thing for all of you. I compared the Cafe Rio salad with my beloved Costa Vida salad. Can I just say, Cafe Rio is lame spice? Don't be fooled by this picture...this was me BEFORE I took a bite. I just told Ted tonight, that the owner of Costa Vida deserves a piece of my heart. I think he was a little jealous. Meh. All in all, Costa Vida gets a 10...Cafe Rio gets a lame spice.

6. Bachelorette Party
I just realized I never posted about my Bachelorette party. It was amazing. Sorry you couldn't be there. There was talk of all things scandalous, Costa Vida, and pizookies. I am pretty sure it was a perfect night. Can't go wrong with those three things. Pretty much story of my life.

9. On to things more tame..
I decided to color coordinate my closet. However, this picture was taken when 3/4 of my clothes were in the laundry basket. I have been short on hangers for months :(

10. I am scared to turn 21.
In 2 weeks from tomorrow I will be 21. I have been dreading this birthday of mine. Why? For one reason. FOREVER 21. My favorite store is like a bad omen to me. Are they saying, that once you turn 21 you are in your prime, and then after that you are just old. Am I only one year from going down hill? Ted thinks I am crazy...but I have been using anti-wrinkle cream everyday since I put the connection together! hahaha...but srsly. I have.

enchilada recipe coming soon :)

baaaaaahh!! I'm throwing a shower for my cousin in June, I now have THE p-e-r-f-e-c-t present for her!!! LOL thanks! (the pregnancy test, NOT the steamy coupons). I say a whole new post is needed about the shower.
You? A "bad side"?? No way jose!
random fact, that im sure you know because you are lauren and you just know cool stuff like this...BUT...the owner of cafe rio and costa vista were actually once married...then once the deivorce happened one made costa vista...that is some bitter salad ur chowin down on :) tee hee

oh my gosh ive been low on hangers ever since i got hitched! its super annoying... in other news i cant believe you think you have a bad side i mean common... your THE busybee your beautiful!
That's a BAD picture of you? I may hate you right now.
And I have to say, Cafe Rio all the way. I have compared Cafe Rio, Costa Vida, and Bajio, and it's Cafe Rio, baby.
I am excited for the enchilada recipe! And way to talk Kaylen into a blog!
Great post, love all the pictures, yes even the "bad" one :)
And I too am looking forward to the enchilada recipe!
tomorrow is ted's year mark for being home and yesterday (aka 13 minutes ago) is "Brazil's" 8 month mark to come home to me! yeah! [refer to blog] ;)
Yay! I'm excited for the enchilada recipe! And I can't believe it's been a year since Ted came home either! I remember when you bloggied about that.
Major props for recipe coming! Oh yes I so enlarged the pictures and Haha..You should ask my dear friend Leah to tell you about the "bucket" party she gave last year. Or better yet, I'll just have her tell you.
21 Was such a "nothing" happened at all year for me. I dread 27...Why? No clue! It just sounds aweful!
I have to say I am far less worried about approaching 30 than I ever was about 21. 21 scared me so much, I don't know why!
Trace
Ted wins cool points for talking to the driftwood snake. No worries about turning 21 you really shouldn't worry too much for at least another decade...
As always, fun, fun, fun. Love all the pictures.
I love the driftwood snake--very clever.
Has it really been a year? That is amazing.
I've never been to Costa Vida, but I must say I love Cafe Rio's salad.
Anti-wrinkle cream--YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!
Can't wait for the enchilada recipe.
Not wrinkle cream...SUN BLOCK!! Trust me, I'm a trained professional. The coupons are too spicey for even an old lady like me. Your Mother wasn't there was she?
Can I tell you something about turning 21? It rocks so hard, it's not even funny. No, not because of the legal alcohol, you drunkies. But because it's the best year of your life. No lie.
Want proof?
Exhibit "A" : I met Ricky the year I turned 21 and knew he was the man I was going to marry.
Exhibit "B" : I knew that year that I was destined to become a writer/teacher.
Exhibit "C" : I got a big raise at the job I used to have as a passenger assistant for Iberia Airlines.
I could go on, believe me. But trust me, you have nothing to fear about 21. I wish I could've stayed forever 21!
Wow. Just wow.
*A year? Really? I remember reading about Ted coming home last year. Again.....Wow.*
*snort* I think I would talk to the "snake".....It's adorable!
When you are my age you will bathe in anti-wrinkle cream. Enjoy using it for fake right now. C:
You have no bad side!!
and Yay for the enchilada recipe! Now I won't have to break a commandment when I think of them.
I totally agree that Cafe Rio was lame and that Costa Vida is the best!
I am going to be 22 in a couple of months and I am feeling sick about it. I will be so old. So I agree with you with the age thing!
I will so bring back a *momento* from La Push or Forks when I go..
Cheese? Maybe.. But I'll admit to my twilight nerdiness. Love the driftwood.. Hate that it looks like a snake..
I loved turning 21. ~ And I never drank or went to bars.. I just loved that I just had alot of fun during those years... ~ And you can go to Vegas and be LEGAL in a Casino.. (even if you don't gamble.. ) but hey.. your legal.
Like everyone else.. I look forward to the enchilada recipe!
Yummy!
Oh, and cute new background! :)
Fun party! Love your face...
I think I have made that recipe a while back, but look forward to seeing yours.
I can't believe it's been a whole year! Just look how many things have happened!
Kate: Lauren's mother WISHES she was there! Lauren's mother LOVES some good scandal! >:D
I can't even believe that Ted has turned you to the dark side. Now you're calling a laundry basket a LAUNDRY BASKET instead of a HAMPER! Psh.
I'm actually excited to get face wrinkles. I think it's so cool when old people have them, especially around their eyes.
Also, I've never bought a thing from Forever 21. I don't know how!!
I worked at Costa Vida for a Looooonnnggg time. And i just don't like the rice there (or cafe rio) because ... it's too much flavor? lol. lately i've been a big cafe rio fan, but that could be only because whenever i walk into costa vida i get a migraine from all the horrible memories i've had there
plus i hear that utah cafe rio is better than mesa/gilbert cafe rio.
but i do LOVE the queso dip at costa. Mmmm...
No way do you have a bad side, but don't worry, I think all girls do! I "totally" have a bad side too. And way to go on color coordinating your closet, it looks awesome and will change your life forever! Oh yes!
And I still can't believe you made a sticker calendar for when your Ted was away...that has to be the cutest thing EVER!
i totally color coordinate my clothes. joel thought i was a little wacky when we got married and forbid me to touch his side of the closet. the way i see it is ... i put the dang laundry away! so yes i try even to keep his so organized. yes i am ocd.
First of all I dont think you have a bad side!
You rock that argile sweater and not only are you tan you are anorexic skinny in that picture!
I did read about the Forks snake piece of wood in one of your old blogs, (you know, cuz I've been catching up) and I did read about your wedding shower (this too because I've been catching up)
I am so impressed you waited the whole two years! That is definately true love. I sent out a missionary and was married to someone else a year later, oops! My hubby had a darling girl wait for him his whole mission, she put together photo albums for him, sent him sweet videos of herself, spoiled him with hundreds of care packages and when he got home he just was not that into her... So mean huh? I guess it wasnt true love with them though!
I have to say I have never tried Costa Vita salads but I do love Cafe Rio more than life, so I am going to make a point of finding a Costa vita here and deciding if your right :) I look forward to reading your posts! Hope your day is peachy! Trish
oh my you make me smile. srsly. i don't think you have a BAD SIDE. Thats just ridiculous. Oh and the bachelorette party had to be pretty cool but nothing can top my sisters. ARTFUL POTTER and SKY MANIA. sky mania is a trampoline place. hahaha AWESOME SAUCE.
I am a burrito girl myself so I love cafe Rio because I love the barbequa burrito YUM!
I color coordinate my closet too. i know someone with severe ocd and they color coordinate the hangers AND the clothes.. creepy. but keep up the good work. PS hangers cost 5 cents a piece at the DI
I have never been to Costa Vida, but I'm seriously considering making the 20 mile drive. In fact, gotta go.
Your blog is so much fun!
I could have told you that Cafe Rio sucks it up compared to Costa Vida. I'm trying to drop hints to Sei to drive me the 30 miles to Costa Vida for Vday.
firstly, i'm FINALLY back :) those potato pancakes were BOMB! your new profile is, too.. bomb, that is.
have i ever mentioned how much i love Forever 21? probably not. from that hallowed shop, for the cheapest of prices, i got:
a) a grey tee with a giant cupcake on it that says, "I AM CUTE"
b) a grey v-neck tee with the WWF panda on the back AND the front - my favourite tee at the moment. for reals. it's beautiful.
c) an uh-MAY-zin' dark navy blue jacket. with a hood.
i would've got me a pair of red skinny jeans if they had those, too... basically all i want in life. but they didn't. they only had blue and purple. too bad!
weirdly enough, i decided to colour coordinate my closet when i got home from the US of A, too. only problem? it hangs front to back, not sideways. the biggest pain evah... i gave up. *sigh* i don't have too many clothes... i simply have a very little closet! *exaggerated cough*
oooohh... scissors. scandalous indeed. nuff said. onwards we will go.
i totally love your La Push driftwood snakey pet, even with all that cheese involved. (srsly. just reading that made me want to pa-YUKE!)
oh, and by the way - your so-called "bad side" is a million times better than my good side. now i shall go pout at the unfairness of this. poop.
I'm like Megan: I color coordinate my clothes AND Scott's clothes in the closet. And, both of my daughters do it. We are just ocd like that.
I Dear John'd my missionary. Then ran into him at college a year after I got married. No regrets! But I do think it's awesome that you & Ted are together.
Never had Costa Vida. Love Cafe Rio. Sorry.
Sunblock is a must! (Like Kate said.) When you get to be my age, then ya start add the anti-wrinkle cream to the daily regimen. Scott's uncle is a retired dermatologist in Mesa, & he made a fortune. And his daughters have gorgeous skin. SUNBLOCK!!
Bad side? pshaw!!
Looking forward to the recipe!
I am not just saying this to be COOL like you....but really, how did you get a picture of my closet??? I even color coordinate Evans and Noahs clothes too. Atleast I am not the only one. yeppiee.....
Tierra said I need to tell you about the "Sex Bucket" Party I had??? You'll have to throw one too, you and your friends would have so much. I am sure Ted would like the idea too. =)
Great post.
Ok i totaly dont see your bad side but i have that same problem I always forget that my bad side is the side that does not have my bangs closest to my eyes...i dont know how to explain that.
I love Cafe Rio. Then again i dont think ive ever had costa vida.
Ted looks like he got burned in Madagascar.
And dont fret about being 21 and think it all just gets better from there
Forever 21 rocks!
srsly, shut it about the bad side. you always look adorable.
and what kind of car does Ted have that there is a button on the dash for TEXT? space age, huh?
Our closest Costa Vida is about 30 minutes away. It took me forever to figure out what the place was called because my friend kept calling it "Casa Vita" until her husband (weeks later) told me the real name.
Anyway, what in the world was all that about the "bad side"?
Oh, I color coordinate too!!! It makes me happy. I pick my clothes by my mood, which totally corresponds to a color. I love it!
oohhhh i'm really excited about the enchilada recipe!!
i'll be 21 in May -- i'm so excited but very not at the same time... i mean, i remember my 4th birthday like it was yesterday!! and i still feel like i'm 17.. k maybe i'm just immature but i feel like i'm gettin too old!
i wish i could organize my closet!! i'm so horrible when it comes to clothes!!! i can wash them without a problem but i cant for anything hang them all up... rustys already promised me that would be his job when we get married because hes good at it.. unlike me.
& i think you should have a bachelorette party post soon!!
your tanness a year ago reminds me that i really need to tan... summers on its way!
I think its pretty impossible for you to have a "bad" side, Lauren! =]
If 21 is old, then I must be ancient. *sigh* I'll be 25 this year!! But not for a LONG time!! (Nov)
I'm really excited about the enchilada recipe!! Hubby doesn't like mexican food (shock, I know!) but sometimes I make whatever the heck I want and completely disregard his tastes =P
and I now have some ideas for some scandalous bridal shower gifts hahaha!! =]
& I <3 Costa Vida =D
that's the story of my life about the clothes ALWAYS more than half are in a basket. I know I am turning 21 too this year and I'm kinda of excited kinda of scared!! i like this post and I am excited for the enchilada recipe!
I am so glad that Ted talked to driftwood snake, it probably kept him alive. And better alive than dead I always say.
I color coordinate my closet too! :)
I wish I could have been a fly on the wall at your Bachelorette party. I'm sure it was hilarious! :D
I wish I was turning 21. I will be 30 this year. It feels like yesterday that I turned 21 and now my twenties are almost over. I can't believe how fast they went. I am even getting crows feet in the corners of my eyes. Not to scare you or anything. I just want you to know you are still young.
I wish I would have read Twilight before my sister moved back from Washington. She lived near Forks too. She lived there for 10 years. I could have gone to Forks. I have been to Port Angeles a few times though.
LOve your new Valentinish background adn song! I must say I enjoyed my Costa Vida Salad tonight! It was absolutely scrumptious! Maddi had the burrito, I loved them both! I did taste a difference between the two places Rio and Vida but I must say I love them both! :) I am a loyal person and Cafe Rio has been my love for too many years to count...soo idk I will visit Vida a lot more often! I took some photos to post on my blog, I dont know how they will turn out though because my two year old threw my camera down our heater vent so I had to use our water proof camera :) ttfn
well if that is what forever 21 means, then i can't enter there ever again. and haven't been allowed in there for many a year. :( ted talking to the driftwood snake is making me laugh. but hey, whatever keeps you awake.
I just have to say that personally, I love Cafe Rio salads. I had one yesterday :D
And I read online somewhere that once you hit 20, you start going down hill. I hate to say it, but it's true. So 21 isn't bad. You're already screwed by then ;) (JUST KIDDING!) But that is a good idea about the anti wrinkle cream...I need to go buy some, because I'm already 21! Crap! I'm so far behind!
I used to use anti wrinkle cream when i was younger. I would just see it there in my moms bathroom cupboard and use it. 21 is a big one. I turn 22 next week! Talk about oldie. Im going to need to get a walker soon. Arent those position books hilarious? Some of those I know cant be comfortable or possible. I made enchiladas on Thursday and really wanted your recipe. hurry up with it!
ha ha the 2 whitneys right after each other. Love it. good thing we have a pictures. How would you tell us apart?
I don't think you have a bad side! We love Costa Vida--it's a little weird because they all know my husband by name--maybe we go a little too often!
YAY for color coordinated closets!! That's the way mine lives :o)
Your eye lids in picture eight look fantastic!
I've been to the Costa and the Cafe, but both were in Utah. Cafe Rio was WAY better, but I'm sure it's a bit different at each place. I found a recipe for the pork barbocoa salad and I LOVE it! For this girl who lives like 9 hours from the closest one, finding the recipe made me very happy!
As for turning 21, it's overrated. Now, 31...that's where it's at! (okay, not really. but I have to tell myself that to feel good!)
Once upon a time there was a girl who didn't have a bad side. Her name was Lauren and she is gorgeous all around. The End.
ps. you are too sweet complimenting my offspring like you do.
"Thanks for the compliments!" -the density
haha
Your color coordinated closet is inspiring!! I really need to clean mine :) Also, you really make me wish I lived somewhere that had a Cafe Rio. I have heard so many people talk about it, and have never had the opportunity. Super sad.
So excited for the enchiladas, you're the best!
It's never too soon to start using facial cream. Clinique is the best.
Firstly, I color coordinate my closet also. Have I told you that? I feel I have. Oh well, moving along.
I am a ripe old age of 22, I'll be 23 in July, and mentally I am forever 21. The store speaks the truth.
I've always organized everything (and I mean everything) by color... A.L.W.A.Y.S! Scarlet already does it at the ripe ol' age of 20 months.
I found cute sundresses to take to Mexico at Forever 21... and well, I'm only a couple years older than 21. haha
You went to Forks?!!
