lar's mail bag

Dear The Tedward,

Are you my mom? Because your ridiculously lame and witty joke the other night at dinner was equal parts nerdy ted, and a nancy face lame joke.

The joke's dorkiness was so stunning, I took a picture of your dinner, so I could share it on my blog :)

Ted ordered spaghetti...
When he noticed a lone piece of Penne in the pasta, he said...
"Hey look! It's an imPASTA!"
*buh dum bum*

------------

Dear Pocket Edward,

You should always choose a chicken as your mode of transportation. Not only is it eco-friendly...it's all kinds of brilliant.

PS...that robot dance is foxy.

case and point

------------------------

Dear my-brother-ty-who-is-my-bff,

Next time you decide breaking your leg in two places is cool...remember that it's not. In the mean time, I will still visit you in all of your crippledness...and I will still bring your lemon-cream slushes from Sonic...even if that means I will risk being attacked and murdered at that ghettospice Sonic. And...I will even fall asleep on your sofa again, while watching "Rear Window".

Yes. I am the best sister. feel better...kthanxbye!

--------------------

Dear Zac Efron,

You're my favorite. That is all.

-------------------------

Dear Mama Face-who-goes-by-Nancy Face-on-the-blogs,

This right here is why you are the funniest and bestest mom in the world. I will fight anyone who thinks their mom beats you at the title of "the coolest". Peace Out {Kip style!}

------------------------

Dear Self,

Make phyllo-wrapped salmon with brie, baked sweet potatoes, and strawberry-bacon-spinach salad again. I think Ted likes you best when you do.

-----------------------------

Dear Blog readers,

I don't know what has gotten into me, but I am about to embarrass myself. I love me some Chicago, and I am pretty sure the entire world loves them some Chicago. They are epic. They are even more epic at 5:12 PM after a hard day of work. I would know. I propped up my camera on the dash, and recorded the following moment of bliss for all of you:

Good crap that is a fancy dinner! I think if I ever tried something like that for Philip, he would be convinced that I had sold my soul to the devil or something of the likes.

Also, I LOVE Chicago, as in Luh-huve them. And I really like to pretend that I think those words are, "After all the hooey've been through..." As in hooey is bad stuff, apostraphe-v-e. And it makes Philip really mad every time and I laugh until I cry every time. Basically this comment=I'm a bad wife. :)

Ana Cristina said...

I may be 8th, but by the time I finish writing this comment, I will likely be 400th. Oh wells.

First of all, Lauren, sweet, sweet Lauren, I am sorry if I don't understand the Zac Efron thing. The Robward thing, yes. But Zac is not my cuppa. *shrugs* I still love ya, though.

Second of all, I love your picposts. They are the bestest. And the crowning glory of this post is the video at the end. You are my hero! I adore singing in the car. I love the part in the vid when you're all serious and into the moment but then have to look over your shoulder to change lanes or something. Classic. :D

Ana Cristina said...

P.S.) Tell your Hippogriff I say hi.

Katie said...

I respect you so much more than ever before for posting that video at the end of your blog. Ah-mazing!

Your mail bag was hilaritastic and also 'caused me to start drooling over yet another delicious sounding dish. If I ditch my sister in Arizona and show up at your house instead could I steal all of your recipes?

That video made me smile. I love to sing while driving. Singing in the car like there's no tomorrow, as if nobody is watching, is the best!

Oh, and aren't you worried that P.E. will attack the chicken if he gets, you know, hungry?

Lula! said...

I'm so glad you posted the video. As I've already shown it to my entire family...and it will remain on my phone. I'll play it at random moments. Just because.

p.s. Yes, please--I would like the salmon, taters, and salad. Thanks for offering.

p.p.s. But you know that I said Ted was brilliant on the night of the IMPASTSA! event. Because he is. And that's still funny.

Tori :) said...

I heart Chicago as well. 'Hard Habit to Break' is my fave. Just sayin'...

Pocket Edward reminds me of that chick riding on the front of the boat from Titanic! :D

Yay for funny hubbies. The jokes may be corny, but he'll be making you laugh when you're 80. And that's awesome!

Your food looks so yummy! ***wandering off to the fridge***

Jill said...

LOL!! at the vid!!

You know, I often wonder what the other passerby's in traffic think when I'm belting out to songs in the car.

The car is like the shower, man. It seems like you could hit every note perfectly.......and you always feel the need to sing your heart out like Whitney at the Super Bowl. All while forgetting that someone could be right outside your bathroom door, or watching in the car lane next you, laughing their booty's off. LOL

Jenn with Two N's said...

Dear Lauren,
Your meal looks AWESOME. I'm a little jealous of it. So is my belly. And thank you oh so much for the video of awesome-singingness. It kinda made my day (and I had to be up at 6 this morning, so it's been a rough few hours)
-Jenn

p.s. you should so tell your readers how to make your salmon so they can make it and have people like them best for it too

sarah said...

chicago is my favorite!!! one time while my brother and sister and i had to do the dishes we turned it into a chicago concert reenactment and were singing "look away" at the top of our lungs... after a few min we could see our neighbors peeking over the fence to see who the awesome talent was. they were obviously jealous.

Meghan O said...

I'm laughing because of your hilarity! I think this has to be one of my favorites of your bog posts.
Tedward and Nancy Face sound like two hilarious people (I see where you get it from ;) )
It's nice to see Pocket Edward again, I've missed the little guy!
Hope your brother feels better!! That really stinks.
Love Zac Efron. longtime <3
Nancy Face seems like the coolest mom (won't start a competition on coolest mom)
Will you come to MA and cook for me?
Best singing-while-driving video ever.

You are hilarious! That just made my day... that clip... at the end... but not the yummy dinner you made. That just made me hungry and wish that I could cook. Don't worry though, I'll get over it because... I learn how to cook soon! I'll just call up my lovely friend Erika (a.k.a. girl-who-can-cook-anything!) and get myself overto her kitchen and be her student for the day. Thanks... bye. =)

Excellent taste in music my dear! I just wanted to hear you sing the whole song!

Emma said...

Thanks for the vid! You are amazing! I love me some Chicago. I just had to play on of their songs at our wedding and everyone looked at me weird. But I guess that's just because I'm cooler than them. :)

P.S. I would love the salmon recipe. Hubs requests salmon for dinner pretty much every night of the week. (we don't eat it every day though -- I am afraid of mercury poisoning) But he really like salmon soo....share your knowledge please!!

I agree.. Your mom is the funniest mom I know of. True that.

We are twinners singing. We could REALLY jam together!

Sara said...

Ahahahaha! I sing Queen in my car like that. With other passengers in my car. And I try to get other people to sing along at red lights. I consider it my gift to mankind. Because the world needs more jammin' in the car.

For the record, I was also singing like that when "Build Me Up Buttercup" came on your little iPod when I loaded your blog. Music's awesome.

Klin said...

I would like to hire you to be my personal chef. I don't know how you come up with such greatness, but it makes me drool.

Clint & Alicia McLaws said...

I love me some Chicago too!!! They're coming in concert the end of this month. I pretty much would auction off....something.... to go LOL :p Hubby-man and I were sitting at Applebees last night, and classic Chicago came on. I said "I LOVE Chicago!" to which he replied, "Chicago sucks". Blasphemy. I don't know him at all.

You're amazing :)

Do you want to come cook dinner for me? Every time you post food that you make it looks delish!

Connie (and Tony) said...
