I was thinking about this today as I was eating the PB&J that Ted so graciously made for me.
I thought...."Lauren...dude. I need to write out a list of stuff that bugs me."
And so I did.
And my list will be very controversial...because I am willing to bet more than 75% of you ♥ this stuff.
That is why I entitled this list:
"Lauren's list of crap that she hates but the rest of the world LOVES."
1. "Wicked"....is wicked NOT awesome.
Yes. I have heard the soundtrack. And no, I didn't like it. I was actually quite annoyed with it. So, the music stinks...and frankly, I never liked "The Wizard of Oz" as it is, so I really couldn't care less about the story. What I am sayin' is...Gammage, can you book Les Miserables instead?
BTW...I think that white chick is telling the green chick a dirty joke....just sayin'...

2. Pedicures....are a scam.
The first time I experienced a pedicure, was the day before I got married, and it was so ridiculous. People pay 25 bones for that?! I will pass next time an offer to go have my feet massaged by a random old man, and then jabbed with a pumice stone in yucky soap water, comes along.

Dude. Why does everyone like this scent? It sickens me. Who wants to smell like a melon? Have you ever smelt cantaloupe? It smells like a fart. True story. Go cut open a cantaloupe and try to tell me it DOESN'T smell like a fart. 10 bucks right thuuurr.

5. Cherry Limemades.Don't like 'em.

6. Bead Head hair products.
If I want my hair to feel greasy or look like bed head...I just won't bother washing my hair or even brushing it. The few times I have used these products my hair looks dull.

Let's see...the only things I think I agree with you about are pedicures (never had a professional mani or pedi) and perhaps the cucumber melon scent. I don't think it smells like fart, but I don't like it for a body lotion. At least not the ones I've smelled so far.
BTW, Worlds of Fun beats Six Flags hands down.
I can take reality shows or leave 'em. I used to like Biggest Loser, and SYTYCD. I just don't watch TV much anymore.
Ok, and Bed Head products. My hair is fine and thin. I don't need anything else to help along the greasy look.

Ha I love this! You really are a leader--I tend to be a follower but I'm working on my leader tendancies (and confidence along with that). So I will proclaim:
I don't like cherry limeades but I do love strawberry limeades. But not enough to make a big deal out of them.
I hate roller coasters. Period. So six flags is lame-o to me.
I watch America's Next Top Model. I don't know why.
I'm over cucumber melon but cucumber alone is one of the most refreshing things to me. I'll eat a whole cucumber at once. I put cucumber in my water and once I found a bubble bath just sented "cucumber" (no melon) and I was obsessed. I used it all in 3 days. It smelled incredibly fresh and not too sweet.
That is more than you ever wanted to know, I bet.

Don't worry I too think 50% of your lamespice are lamespice too. Pedicures are expensive & give toe fungus, cucumber melon no thank you. Never got into American Idol because all of my spare time is at the thrift store or on the computer.
I still like Magic Mountain though except it attracts a totally different kind of crowd if you know what I mean.

I almost had a heart attack when I read this list... because I totally completely 100% AGREE... I don't see what the big hype is about Wicked. I've seen the musical and heard the music and I don't enjoy it!! It drives me crazy how people rant and rave about it, and how everyone proudly wears their wicked t-shirts haha. I also hate the scent of cucumber melon. It gives me a headache. and Cantaloupe totally smells like a fart. Basically you are SO right :)
5th! Anyhow, I actually have to disagree with you on Wicked. I was SOOO annoyed with the music when my sister blarred it while getting ready for school during the morning. IN fact, me and my mother's favorite past tiem was to make fun of it. But then a couple of good friends of mine and I drove up to LA last year and saw it and sang the songs all the way up (which made me love them) and it was the darn cutest show I've ever seen! Besde Singing in the rain, that is. Anyhow, I do agree with you on pedicures though, they're disgusting!!!!!!!!!

WOW- you can't really hate wicked unless you see it. you don't understand the story as much via soundtrack. Soundtracks leave things out and you don't get the whole story. Too bad... you're missing out on awesomeness. It's actually quite comical, but you won't ever know unless you go.
pedicures- eh I'm iffy. I like the good work, but I've learned to do stuff myself, so i don't have to pay for it.

Umm what the sam?! How can you not enjoy pedicures??? Do you hate massages too? I dont go every two weeks but sometimes its nice to let someone else maintain the "sandal feet" we all get during the summer here.

i loved this list. :P cucumber melon... i used to LOVE. Now I can't stand the smell.. you are correct. AND. Cool Ranch Doritos. my psychology teacher brought these up because he had an experience similar to your lovely one and he can NOT be NEAR them. the smell, the sight, the thought of them totally grosses him out. It was all psychological he said (hence the lesson), but since hearing about it, I don't enjoy them much just because it always reminds me about that lesson! AND. I can relate, I had an experience with pasta salad. imagine that nastiness. go ahead; i know. WAY worse than c-ranch chips. ;oP You probably don't think so, but I had to say it!! SOOOOO NASTY!
For REAL! You're such a leader & SO funny! I almost totally agree, except I have gotten wrapped up in The Bachelor AND American Idol the past couple of seasons. Sometimes I don't even know why I watch, but I totally get ragged on for not watching SYTYCD, I thought I was the only one who didn't watch!
I'm pretty much with you on Wicked, limeades & even the pedis now. I've gotten them for wedding parties & girls days, but yuck for tooo much moula!

You're right! I do LOVE most of that stuff, especially Wicked. But I'll tell you this, I don't love them because other people told me to, or to fit in. I just like them. And with Wicked, I have always been a huuuuuuuuuuge Wizard of Oz fan and I think its 100% super cool that some writer came along and made up a completely different background for the Wicked Witch of the East that actually gave her a freakin' soul. Dorothy is now just a lame ditsy schoolgirl in my eyes now. Anyways, I also think its awesome that you aren't afraid to say you don't like what everyone else likes. Way to be your own person...which is the whole point in living, right???
One more thing! I bet YOU $100 that you would love Wicked if you went to see it! Yep, I'm for realz on that bet. Four words to prove my point: Glinda the Good Witch. Go see it and tell me otherwise. Adios!
I have not seen Wicked, so I don't know. I have had a couple of pedicures and loved them, so I have to disagree. Not a big fan of cool ranch doritos, but have never heard of cooler ranch. I love cucumber melon. I've never had a limemade of any kind. Have never seen bedhead products. Other than Biggest Loser and Dancing with the Stars, I do not enjoy reality shows. I watched SYTYCD the other night for about 10 minutes and ABSOLUTELY HATED it. It's been years since I've been to Magic Mountain, but I LOVE roller coasters ; )
Amen to Les Miserables! I am a Broadway NUT, and I have never seen the point or the genius of the Wicked musical. . . it's coming to Nashville. Meh. But, good news! I heard they're launching a 09/10 tour of Les Miserables! :)
You're "lamespice" about 2 and 5. On 2, you went to a bad place. Pedicures are awesome if done correctly. Old water? Where did you go, Billy Bob's manure and nail spa?
On 5 you have to order them correctly. You must get extra pumps of cherry juice. They are told to put in like one pump or something. Tell them you want extra cherry juice and when they say, "You want extra cherries?" you say, "NO! Extra cherry flavoring/juice". Makes a world of differene.

I don´t like realities too. Here we can see American Idol but delayed at least a week so when everybody is waiting to know who is on the finale, I already know because I talk with my friend abroad to see the show live :D
A mini list? American Idol, John and Kate+8, Latin American Idol, Operación Triunfo, etc.
I hate Doritos too. All the flavors. For snacks I prefer Pringles.
About the scents lotion, I don´t know cucumber, but I used to buy a bodyspray of watermelon and melon -so sweet- but it´s my point of view.
Hahaha, the bed head products... I don´t know them but seems like expensive-for-nothing.

1. Never heard of it.
I'm very picky with musicals and I don't like "The Wizard of Oz". The only thing I found interesting in the movie was the changing in the colors (black&white scenes vs. color scenes).
2. Never had one.
I do them myself :) I rather spent the money on clothes ahah
3. Never tried.
However I remember when I tried Guacamole Doritos. They look like they are covered in fungus (I'm sorry if I offend anyone!) but I ate it. And then the breath came. I had to brush-brush-brush-a-lot my teeth. I'm not a big fan of Tex Mex Doritos either.
4. I don't like melon. I hate cantaloupe from-top-to-the-bottom. The smell makes me sick *shudders*
5. Hummm... I like lemonade and caipirinha but cherry juice is a big NO for me. It is too sweet, isn't it?
6. I never tried but my hair is happy with Fructis. Another way to save money. At least here (in Portugal) it's pretty expensive.
7. I watched the first Big Brother everyday but now I don't follow any. Well, I don't have a television ahah
8. I had my share of amusement parks. I love them, especially Disneyland! As for rollercoasters: they are not so bad... The ones for the kids. I try everyone of them (the chill-out ones and the bad ones) and I always promise to never ride again. But I do.

I agree with you about pedicures but that's because I hate feet, I don't like seeing feet, I don't want people touching my feet. It freaks me out. I want to kick them in the face.
The melon lotion stuff I agree with also, those scents have never attracted me. There is also some scent out that's like... lemon grass or something? I don't get it.
I LOVE SYTYCD. They're kind of supposed to wear little clothes for the dances they're supposed to be dancing. I think it's great that finally dance is becoming popular again, it's helping getting people to notice it and musical/dance movies are becoming something in the limelight again. Which has been lacking since the 1950 movies like On the Town or Brigadoon. I'm all supportive of anything to do with dance. The other reality shows I don't watch, however.

Reality tv shows are FAKE, I can't stand them. And those girls on So You Think You Can Dance show seriously DO need more clothing. I would not feel comfortable watching that show with my husband.
I like Cooler Ranch Doritos but my problem with them is the first chip is delicious but then after that the taste is bland. If you want another powerful taste you have to find the few chips in the bag that have the flavor all over it like crazy.

i do agree about cucumber melon. however, i strongly disagree about wicked. it's okay if you don't like the story line, buuuuuut, the music is far from stinking. honestly, the one measure change, (no, no one note change!) from minor to major?! stephen schwartz is amazing.

But, from your description I don't think you had a good experience. I've had the whole spectrum and def think there are some places that just don't do it well. actually, outside of ny/nj I've never had a good one- we have SO much competition here that they have to be amazing. My place does mani/pedi for $20 for both and it is pure bliss.

You just need to have a good pedicure! With a calf massage, done by a female (they are way better) and aromatherapy soak. It's WAY better and totally worth it. The way you had it done...very lamespice.
OK when I first listened to the Wicked CD I did not like it. Everyone saw the show and I did not know what the big deal was. Then I saw it front row. Seriously it was the most amazing thing ever. It makes the music actually make sense when you see it. I also like so you think you can dance too. I don't really watch it every week, but if I catch a little bit of it I totally love watching.
1. I've never seen Wicked and have only heard a couple songs, so I can't say whether I like it or not.
2. I've never gotten a pedicure. There's something about your foot in a tub that a bunch of other people with varying degrees of fungus have had their feet in.
3. I don't mind Cooler Ranch, but I'm not a huge fan of chips in the first place.

2. I agree that pedicures are a lot of money but I love them. It's very relaxing to sit in a massage chair & have hot stones rubbed on your legs & feet etc. Although I will say I only like them from my nail place because it's CLEAN, they speak good english, & it's all new & up to date. Not nast. I do my own a lot to save the money though.
3. C-ranch-ito breath=nast but I still think they taste good. Although I like never eat them.

If you haven't seen Wicked, then you can't really knock it. I read 15 pages of the book, and it was trash, so I returned it. I was quite worried that the show would be the same way (I had already bought my tickets before I started reading the book) but it is nothing like the book at all. The entire show had me mesmorized. I LOVED every second of it. And it's true, you can't really get the music until you've seen the show. In the words of Mikey, "Try it, you'll like it!"
I actually enjoy a pedicure, but my husband thinks it's lame to pay some strange Asian lady 25 dollars to rub my feet, so now I do it myself for free.
Not a fan of Cucumber Melon scented anything.

(but the book is HORRIBLE) Also, I don't like cherry limeades (mango limeades and powerade slushies are much yummier) or cooler ranch doritos. yuck. But I LOVE six flags!! But I am a roller coaster fan, so that is probably why. I think it's funny how you and your mom have the same opinions on these things too. I want to try this "kenra" sounds great!

I feel the same about twilight and harry potter as you do about wicked. I won't read them unless my 7 year old decides she wants to, so I will have to preview them. I bought the wicked soundtrack, but I only listen to 4 songs. I have never been to a real play, so I might check it out.
I think manicures are even more of a waste. Once you wash dishes, your nails are toast.
Haha, I was thinking the same thing as you, Lar Face...if somebody wanted me to go to Wicked badly enough to buy me a ticket, I would totally go! If I liked it, I would totally admit I was wrong! ;)

Things that people like that I don't
1. Cheese...I know, EVERYONE likes it, but I don't. Same with olives and fish.
2.Horror Movies...I can't watch them. They scare the poo right out of me...eww
3.Bra wires..its a love hate relationship, you love them when they work, but when they break...OUCH!

I liked Wicked, the book, it was slow but it picked up. The Son of a Witch sequel sucked. I wanted to see the play but haven't yet.
I hate American Idol unless I'm laughing at the auditions.

oh and Six Flags is one of the scariest places I have ever been! We were SO sick after going on the Superman Rollercoaster that we couldn't even walk straight! that was 3 summers ago, we've been making fun of ourselves ever since.

Yeah I am in love with certain reality shows! Mostly the dancing ones! So you think you can dance is amazing! Also Wicked is the best musical I have ever seen no lie and I have seen like 5-7 of them. I feel like I wouldn't like six flags...I have never been but I feel like I agree with you on that. That's funny how much stuff you don't like that tons of people do! haha
I HATE cucumber melon too! I think my hatred comes from the fact that every girl in jr. high school would spray their sick nast cucumber melon body spray in the locker room while I was trying to dress out. You can't escape until you're fully clothed. That's horrific torture right there

Now for Things I hate that most people love:
1. Twitter - I dont need to know that you just peed or went to the fridge and made nachos. You are not that important and I could care less, sorry ;)
2. Organic food - I'm over this trendy shopping excuse, lower your prices please so I can eat healthier without breaking the bank!
3. Bangs - You know which ones I mean right? The full forehead, straight across blunt cut ones. I might hate them because its me circa 6th grade puberty, or just because they unflattering on most people.
4. Microfiber - (this one's for fellow designers) a household standard that is going to be the 70's linoleum of today in 20 years in my opinion.
5. iphones - It's like users think this phone came with an instant "im too coo' fo' schoo'" app. What? you mean there are OTHER sweet phones out there on less expensive plans???
And just for fun here is my thing Amanda loves that other people hate/make fun of me for constantly ;)
1. Hil Duf - love her. Own her perfume. Go ahead and laugh but me and Hil will be BFF's fo' life and will sing Lizzie Maguire songs together and watch a Cinderella Story over and over!!

2. I get one pedi a year when I start wearing flip flops. Just bc I'm too lazy to "shave" my own heels.

2. The only pedi I've ever gotten was from my cousin and she, not being a random old man did an excellent job and I was prego so it was free! Those kinda pedi's I'm cool with.
3. Love the chip. Hate the breathe. But alas you cannot have one without the other *sigh*
4. I use baby lotion. That smells wonderful.
5. OK. I love Cherry Limeades. When I lived in Reno I had one three times a week!

I agree with about 90% of that. I have avoided Wicked the musical like the plague. The book was really good and not at all anything that i think would be a good musical (unless the changed the whole tone of the thing). The only thing I have to disagree with is the pedicures. I hate doing them my self and since I got my tatoo on my foot I havent been about to get one in months. which means i have had to do them myself (lamespice as you put it)
I am so glad to know I am not the only person who hates Wicked!! Don't get me wrong, I love me some Wizard of Oz, but that book/play is freakin' WEIRD! Cherry limeades-- yuck, nasty. Cucumber melon? 2. Pedis... I'd rather get a massage. For heaven's sake I can pain my own toenails unless I'm 8 months pregnant (learned from experience)

ok I Have to say that I agree with you on everythin 100 % except for #5 and #6. Cherry Limeades are the best on a hot summer day. I don't even like carbinated drinks, but I love these.
Also I use Bed Head. It's the only thing that seems to work on my hair and does not leave it greasy....(I should know I can go like 5 days without showering). I have a hard time finding stuff that works for me and this just happens to work. I have been using it for almost 6 years! (I have tried Kenra....didn't like it....probably wrong texture of hair).
I am not a huge fan of reality tv shows although i watch them because I sometimes need something to take my mind off the craziness of my life and the bachelorette does wonders for that! So I hate them, but I watch them out of boredom.

When I read the part about you hating Wicked, I was a bit upset. I LOVE Wicked. But, every man to his opinion. I agree with you on the pedicures!! How freakin' ridiculous is this? People spend a fortune for someone to draw a flower on their foot. Silly.

1. Wicked. My BIL loves the soundtrack. Sings it often. It makes me want to disown him.
3. Cooler Ranch Doritos are disgusting. Also, why are they CoolER, and not just Cool? Whatever. They're neither.
5. Cherry flavor anything is disgusting. I can do fresh cherries, maybe. As long as my tongue was recently burned by food that was too hot.
6. I once tried Bed Head because I have the curse of no-volume-flat-hair-lots-of-it-but-it's-fine-so-it-doesn't-even-matter-if-there's-lots hair. Bed Head just made me want to take a shower. And then I came to grips that nothing, not even back combing, will ever change my straight, straight hair.

I genuinely love the music of Wicked-Granted, I do like Les Mis better, but Wicked is fun and even more fun to play on the piano.
Cherry Limeade's make me ridiculously happy, especially when the surprise me with extra cherries.

1. Have never desired to see it. I'll take your word for it.
2. Pedicures are ok, but mine are best. I even use hot wax which leaves my feet feeling super soft.
3. Dorito breath in general is icky. Cooler Ranch? Naw, thanks anyway.
4. I only do warm vanilla sugar and country apple or something with apple and cinnamon. everything else gives me a headache.
5. I prefer Apple Slushies. Yummy apple juice in slush stuff.
6. I think I use small talk, but just a teenie amount to control my fro frizzies. LOL at your description. Fun.ny.
7. Biggest Loser is all I watch. I didn't like A.I. when I first saw it and have never given it a second chance. I don't think reality shows reflect the reality I want to live in ;)

Yeah, everyone's freaking out and being trendy about WICKED, even i participated with a status update saying I wished I was at Wicked. Half my extended family went without so much as a word to the rest of us. They try to be trendy. So I facebooked that IN THEIR FACE! :)

I will give you Wicked (which I've never seen but already don't like), Bed Head (which I've never used but already don't like), reality shows (although I do watch American Idole) and Six Flags (which I've never been to but already don't like), but I do love me some pedis and cherry limeades, and Ranch Doritos and cucumber melon are okey dokey. I think I just may do this tag. I love negative lists. :)

Let me 'splain:
1. I don't know about "Wicked The Musical," but I can tell you the book is amazing. Seriously amazing. Give it a try.
2. Pedicures are only a scam if the pedicurist is a scam-artist. I know this very sweet old lady that does my pedi-/manicures and all I can say is that it's cheaper than therapy and feels a heck of a lot better. Plus my nails have actually gotten healthier now. You just haven't found the right lady. (Wait that sounds kinda funny ... moving on.)
3. Cool Ranch Doritos actually kinda suck. You're right. Moving on again...
4. Cucumber freakin melon is freakin awesome!!! Sad that it makes you sick. It smells like a fart to you?!!! Wow, you're lucky to have only smelled delicious farts, woman.
5. Cherry Limeades are awesomeness. I get them every time I go to Sonic. What did cucumber freakin melon and cherry limeades ever do to you?! :D
As for 6-8, I have no opinion since I don't watch Reality TV or use Bed Head products. As for Six Flags, never been, so I'll have to take your word for it.

1. i swear to you, i think sometimes that my life was meant to be a musical. and play on Broadway. since that hasn't happened *yet* i'm basically a fan of a bajillion musicals... so i'm pretty keen on Wicked :)

Never been to Six Flags Mountain--but I have been to Six Flags Over Georgia. it's been 12 years, though. Why do the Flags when you can do The World? (Or, in your case, The Land.)
But I do love pedicures...espeially if they're done at a very swank, frou-frou spa. By an English-speaking woman. In a pedicure chair that has massage and stuff. And when they bring youwater with lime and the latest Elle magazine. Now that is Heaven. Amen.

I'm appalled you don't like wicked. seriously. I'm not sure we can be friends anymore. The show is so freaking good it's not even funny. Tyler and I saw it in NYC in May and hands down best theater we have ever been too. They leave things out of the soundtrack and it's hard to understand the story from the soundtrack.
I love theater, but there are few soundtracks I enjoy listening to. They're just too weird without acting to back it up.
Oh and whoever told you to read the book. DON'T! SO NOT LDS HAPPY, very very dirty book and NOTHING like the musical!

I LOVE THIS!!! I sometimes feel so stupid when I hate something that other people really, really love. I have wanted to see wicked for a long time now, and I love the music...however I would not spend more then 60 dollars on a ticket...I am cheap I know.
PEDICURES A SCAM??? No way...they are how I make most of my money...I haven't really heard of a 25 dollar pedicure the ones at my salon are $45.00. And I love that people love them.
Dorritos are disgusting. They make your breath stink so bad...I buy them once in awhile for Beau because they are his favorite...and then I am a good wifey.
