i must say, i love all the readers of busy bee lauren.
you all helped turn my dreary day upside down.
and then to top off all of your love...the tedward took me on a date to get some red velvet cheesecake. that man sure does know how to cure a bad day.
but seriously...i love you all.
so, after san francisco, the tedward and i drove for 14 hours.
we didn't really make any stops on the way, besides stopping for taco bell. you KNOW i love me some baja chalupas and grilled stuffed burritos. represent!
however, apparently the tedward has to pee sometimes....and since he is boy and can virtually pee anywhere undetected, we just pulled off the road. well...he does his bidness, and comes back to the car to tell me that while he was peeing he spotted something i should see....

um. sick.
but, since i am a trusting wife, i followed.

he found a wild blackberry bush!
i sure hope his bidness didn't trickle anywhere near the bush, because i totes ate them berries...
that is not a gap in my teeth...that is berry juice. how unfortunate. bet none of you believe me.
we arrived in PORTLAND, OR pretty late, so the tedward ordered room service for us.
it wasn't the best...but it was food....and it kept us from shriveling up and dying.
we ate it while watching some crappy julia roberts movie and ted proclaimed that he always seems to get stuck watching crappy julia roberts movies in hotels.
what an odd thing to notice.
and here is what i wore the next day...
as if people care. it seemed like a good idea at the time.

the tedward and i drove about 20 minutes out of Portland, to Multnomah Falls...

everything was so green...it was enchanting.
the falls were so majestic...

we especially loved being able to hear the sound of the falling water as we made the 15 minute hike to the falls...it was like a teaser for what we were to see.

the water was so clear. it was beautiful!
the high altitude and was not kind to us as we hiked...haha. we felt like old people.
made me regret eating a baja chulupa the day before.

oh...you don't know what the ViewPoint Inn is? oh, it's just where The Prom Scene for Twilight was filmed. aint no thing. oh...and they made sure to seat us for lunch, at the table Rob and Kstew ate at. no biggie.
i ordered something delicious...but i can't remember what it was, because ted's burger has wiped all memories from my brain. srsly..that burger was wizard.
we were sad to know that there was really no gazebo at the inn. that was just something the set directors added. we saw a pond with ginormous fish in it, though!
yeah..ok...not as awesome.
they DID leave this on the grounds though...
awesomespice!
The View Point Inn was delightful, and so beautiful.
such a romantic stop...

No Way!!! I'm first!!
Can I tell you just how cute you two are. What great memories you are making for you and your future children to see.
All this talk about cheese cake and it's 11:42 PM here with no cheese cake in this house or even a factory close by, not that it would be open :(
I loves me some good cheesecake!
Isn't Multnomah Falls the best? I could just sit for hours and do nothing else there.
I love the pics you took. You did a great job.
Oh and boysenberries! My fav of all berries. Yummy!
And just cause I'm usually like # 89 I would like to point out just one more time that I was first here tonight on Busy Bee Lauren, folks.

Lovely pictures! And Oregon Trail was my FAVORITE! :)
Wow that is truly beautiful and I am totes jealous of this trip of awesomeness you took. But thanks for the pictures, they are amazing!
What a fun trip. So glad you both had such a wonderful time celebrating your 1st year.
1. Every where I have lived we've had raspberry and blackberry bushes growing along our property. I like making jam out of them.
2. I loled with the Gollum picture. We had a man at the gas station who would come in, he looked and sounded like the human-Gollum. Way creepy. I was always trying to get a picture of him but never got the chance.
3. I'd totally go swimming in that icy waterfall water.
4. The foods look epically nomtastic!
Oregon Trail...those were the days!
But I am sure the real Oregon is better...
Beautiful pictures, yet again! :)
Ok, my husband and one of our cute boys must have been at Multnomah Falls around the same time as you & The Tedward. Can I just say that his pictures are NOTHING like yours? Seriously beautiful shots. (yours, of course)
Awww, I love your pics. And the prom scene from Twilight...most def. is some thang, srsly! :)
You guys did so much on your trip (I know you are done yet!) It's so cool to see you guys doing all sorts of fun stuff!
Glad your day got better yesterday!
x, ash
I am INCREDIBLY jealous that you got to see where a part of Twilight was filmed. Great pictures!
love all the gorgeous pics!
I told you so Lauren. My friends and I did a girls day, we live like an hour away from Viewpoint Inn. Its awesome and has the best food. They have a Twilight Martini, and a Twilight dessert and its so beautiful up there.
I always died on "Oregon Trail" ! Sadness!
The green is almost overwhelming isn't it? When we first moved to Washington and bought our house I learned that you have to get up on your roof periodically if it is shaded by 100 foot fir trees (as ours was) and scrape the moss off! This AZ girl was freaked out! Wait...stuff is gonna grow on my house???
I would love to visit the Viewpoint Inn! It looks lovely, Twilight or not~
Love it. All of it. What a fun trip!
the photo of your The Tedward totally made me laugh out loud. in the quiet library where i am currently working.

Red Velvet Cheesecake?!!! Gots to get me some of that!

We love blackberries! They grow wild in our back yard.
Looks like you had a lovely time in Oregon. Next time you should stay longer!
Um...that moss? that waterfall? Totally Gorg!!! Wow...beautiful pics by the way!
And I want to know ONE freakin' thing...ok TWO freakin' things...1)How do you get your hair to look awesome all the time? Especially hiking where it is cool by a waterfall? I would be a nasty frizzball! 2)Could you smell any essence o' Robert Pattinson? Just askin!
Ok can we please talk about that cheesecake. Seriously? I'm going to Oregon just for that!
Beautiful pics!
Ted being Gollum made me LOL!
I want that burger...now. It just needs bacon. Mmmm, bacon.
Yay for vacay pics at the inn! Awesome-spice. Can I say that? Cuz I did.
Awesome pictures! Totes jealous right now. I want to go back there!!!! The natural beauty of that part of the country is absolutely breathtaking. It is my happy place :-)
The picture of Ted as Gollum made me lol. Pretty sure my little brother did that when we were in the Olympic Peninsula...
Oh and one more thing...you totally ate pee-berries!
LOVE Oregon! I have only been there once, but it is one of my FAVY places. So green and beautiful. How fun to eat at the same place! That food looked way too delicious. I feel the need to go exercise after looking at it...

As a native, born-n-raised, can't-get-enough Oregonian let me just say how happy I am that you heart Oregon!! LOVE it!! I, too, love all of the green... beautiful. And you should see it in the fall when the leaves change. :)
Anyway - glad you enjoyed it and how fun to go to the View Point Inn.
First of all, I am totally squealing like a crazed little fangirl that you went to the inn where the prom scene from Twilight was filmed!!!! So jealous!!!
Second...the burger Tedward ate looks absolutely delicious and if I could make one appear in front of me from my computer screen...I totally would.

I'm assuming you froze a piece of that cheesecake to send to me, yes?
That Inn looks BEAUTIFUL. I'd want to stay there Twilight or no Twilight. (But Twilight doesn't hurt.)
Wow you should tell Ted he does a spot on Gollum impression.
I was like:
"Oh, they got a picture of Gollum, wait no that's Ted"
True story. Kind of. =]
You know some of the stills at the end of Twilight were taken at the falls too. Just sayin.
Did you go upstairs at the Viewpoint and see where Victoria was standing at the very end of the movie?
oh portland. it's my favorite place. (just maybe because my 3 nieces live there.)
thanks lauren! I would love it if you would advertise for me! I am going to email you if that's okay :)
HURRY I need the forks stuff: ) Too bad you guys couldn't have waited a few weekends. On 10-13 Forks is doing the Stephanie Meyer weekend. I am taking my sisters, we thought about putting a sign in our window that says Dorks To Forks or Bust..lol p.s. cute outfit!
OMG! I totally used to play "Oregon Trail" in elementary school. I miss that game. Beautiful pictures, as always. Please email me when you get a chance, dear Lauren, because I need to discuss something quite serious with you (i.e., hair accessories, what else? :p). Seriously, email me.
Um seriously everytime you take pictures of your food my mouth waters and I instantly crave whatever it is you were eating at the time. You have good taste in food... like cheesecake. YUM. By the way I like live three hours from portland & I've never been but I love all the pictures of washington and oregon your taken its a good motivater for when I'm not preggo I can get myself up there and enjoy some beautiful landscape!
Your pictures are beautiful! (as usual!)

Love your outfit... And LOVE the head band! Please teach me how to make them!
I am jealous that you went to were the Prom scene was filmed... Makes me want to cry!
How romantic is this! Love it!
Oh, how I miss Portland. I grew up about 30 min. away from Multnomah falls, and now we are stuck here in Texas. Ugh. Someday we will get back up there...Love the pics - they all turned out great.
By the way, had NO IDEA that the prom scene was filmed so close to the falls! Crazy.
I'm so happy about both of your Portland stops! I live here (well, in Camas, WA...but it's right across the river) and just visited the View Point a few weeks ago for brunch. It's now one of my FAVORITE food/view places in the city (and pdx has LOTS to choose from). And, you know, the whole Twilight factor doesn't hurt either :-) So glad you and Ted had fun while you were here!!
I've never been to Oregon, but it looks like an amazing place!!Anything that is green instead of brown is amazing to me:)
Your outfit was so cute, love the headband. Did you make it??
Oh ya, I just read your post about those girls in your class...ummm.. wow i hope they read your blog..haha
Hmmmm...I don't remember much...Can't stop thinking about how awesome that burger looks!!! Thanks for stopping by my blog. You are too sweet.

That's SO COOL!! Wow. Robert and Kristen look dull compared to you and Ted! :) Just a question- did you go hiking in flipflops? If you did- you're like Wonder Woman! :D haha.
I'm so glad you like Oregon!
I live up there! Alright...I live in Eugene... But I've visited up there! The falls are GREAT! They're so pretty.
And I'm kinda hoping you ventured up to Forks. I kinda hope Tedward wins best husband award for going on this little adventure. Can't wait to hear (read?) more!
I'm jealous that looks like so much fun and I don't even remember the last time I had a vacation...at least a real one. P.S. You two are just so beautiful together!
You two are so cute. I hope to one day hop in the car and take a trip like that. (I'm sure there was massive planning but in my mind it was a spur of the moment thing. :)) The Monte Carlo Standee-thingy is AWESOME!! :) PS: We love you too! Obviously. :)
Crystal
i love oregon trail!! haha it was my fav.
you too are so cute.
and we love you! :)
this even further proves my point of why i want to go to the oregon/washington area. it's so green and pretty! az doesn't even know trees like that! your pictures are beautiful!
oddly enough my friend and i were gonna do a trip almost just like this a year ish ago. not all the same stops, but some of the same cities and driving up the coast. then we got poor, and i got married, and it just never happened. i would love to go with the hubs though, now i know good places to see!!!
Ha I cleaned out my shed the other day and totally found my old Oregon Trail CD. LOVED that game to death!
P.S. Multnomah Falls looks gorgeous!
What a stunning oasis, looks like you had a berry great time. cute cute cute.
I've only been to Oregan once when I was 14. Since I was with my very grumpy uncle who took us on a five hour drive and me having to beg to stop and pee - I never really thought the state was that great. Also I hated the rain cause my hair turned into an afro. (This was before I discovered what a hair straightner was.) I didn't enjoy the scencery or anything cool like that. Seeing pics (which yours were awesome by the way) like this makes me want to go back so bad so my more mature (or something) self can appreciate it.
Amber
First of all my little lady...you looked absolutely darling, as always. Which is probably why the girls in your class were such snotty snot snots to you. (By the way that's what my husband calls me sometimes, hopefully I'm not anything like those girls though!)
Ohmy goodness! Oregon is my FAV!!! My family lives up there and I go all the time. :) I LOVE how green it is! You should go back in the spring when all the trees are blooming and it's even more green than right now [it's hard to imagine greener, but it is!] It's absolutely gorgeous. I used to only go in the summer to visit but lately I've been getting to go in spring & that is totally my new fav time to go! That and winter when it snows.... toss up!
I just found the raddest edward button off of Leelou Blogs--- and then saw it was done by you!! Thanks!
Am I the only one here who loves ponds with ginormous fish swimming in them? And what the heck is Oregon Trail?
kthnxbye!
i am so behind on commenting
i love the oregon trail except i'd also kill off at least half my fam from dysentery

I look like a homo-gay in all these pictures. eh....
I want a piece of that cheesecake! Yummy! I can't believe the size of Ted's burger! LOL!
What a fun trip!
Uh...
I thought that pic of Ted taking a pic was Pocket Edward. And was all, "How'd you get him to hold a tiny camera like that? And where did you get a tiny camera?"
I love Ted as Gollum. He is wicked...tricksy...false...

Oregon girls, represent.
I am so glad that you {heart} Oregon too...and yeah, moss should be the state plant or something 'cuz it's everywhere. Did you know that Oregon became a state on Valentine's Day? Just sayin'.
Glad you had a great journey through my home state (which I miss a ton...especially the enchanting green-ness that is always goin' on) and who knows, maybe you'll be back. What am I sayin'? Of course you'll be back! And Edward and Tedward too!
Luvyerblog.
