the tedward and i went and saw "love happens" yesterday afternoon.
bring tissues along...it's one of THOSE kinds of movies.
anyway, the movie was shot in seattle, so throughout the movie we were ACHING to be there.
we miss seattle so much, it isn't even funny.
with all of the aching, i remembered i hadn't finished posting about seattle...

one morning, we woke up REALLY early and drove out to some of ted's favorite outlying cities from when he worked there last summer. we went to kirkland, everett and edmonds. all SUCH beautiful places. everywhere you look there is green!

remember this fish?
yeah...him and the tedward are twins.
after our morning drive, we drove back to the city in time for some breakfast at our favorite crepe place in seattle. (it was recommended to us by the darling aubrey). it's called "crepe de france" and it's located in pike place market...

i got a crepe filled with vanilla creme, fresh peaches and strawberries and whipped cream.
um. hi. i want one RIGHT THIS MOMENT.
we did a bit of shopping at the market...
we bought fresh jams, homemade chocolates....
ted bought me a bouquet of the prettiest hot pink flowers.
the kind of flowers you most definitely couldn't find in arizona...
the flowers in the market are so gorgeous and soooo inexpensive. they practically give them away. which is good. because i like when things are practically free.
free is my favorite word.
so is peeta.
mmmm...produce. they had the biggest avocados i had EVER seen!
mmm...avocados.
this was a different day ( i think )
we ate at pike place market a lot, since it was only 5 minutes from our hotel...and it has some of the most delicious food, for relatively cheap.
which brings me to the world's best clam chowder...
everyone needs to experience it's greatness at least ONCE in their life.
i don't care if you hate seafood...you will LOVE this crap.
i am not even kidding. i dream about this stuff.
GET.IN.MY.BELLLLAAAAY!
i am not kidding when i say it is one of the best things i have ever tasted.
get your butt to the market NOW!
after lunchy lunch, we traipsed on over to the space needle.
the area around the space needle is "the awesome".
they have pretty gardens, and little carnival area, and other cool stuff.
i really like the flowers, so i told ted to take picture of me with them.
this is what happened...
hate the "dogs"...love the sign.
we saw a caricature artist near the amphitheater so we decided to get ourselves drawn...
too bad we ended up hating the drawing and it is hiding in the closet instead of being displayed.
if you look closely, you can see the artist decided to draw Obama instead The Tedward.
hello! does he not know who we are?
jay-kay.
now, for some things i love about seattle:
1. Belltown.
such a hip part of town. if we moved there, i would want to live in Belltown.
and, to all you locals...PLEASE eat at The Belltown Cafe and order the stuffed halibut, and the dungeness crab macaroni and cheese. ted and i died. srsly.

2. eating fish and chips on the pier
mmm....soooo good.

3. making friends with seagulls on the pier
and then feeding them our fish and chips...

4. green EVERYWHERE.
i mean, hello! where in mesa can we find this?

i love seattle! my cousins live near there in olympia and when they each got married, we got to take a family vacay out there. i can't wait to take my fiancee out there soon. :)
I've never been. But I will go there. After y'all move and we come to VISIT!
Whoooooooo!
And...best thing you've ever written..."Free is my favorite word. So is Peeta."
I LOVE YOU. Longtime.
Oh, man... You're killing me! I want to go back to Seattle so bad! You've just convinced me that my hubby and I have to plan a trip ASAP. (By the way, I love how you just randomly add Peeta in to the middle of your posts. I'm listening to the book yet again. I was missing him, too.)
Wow, for the first time ever, I got blocked trying to make a comment. I guess there was too many people at once doing this, lol
Anyhoo...I love your pictures! Every time you post pics from your trip, I keep telling myself: Self, you need to save up to have an awesome road trip next summer. And you know what, I think I'm going to listen to myself for a change.
Look like such a gooooorgeous place! I shall definitely have to put it on my must visit list :)
xox
Seattle looks amazing! I've never been to the west coast, but when I do I will definitely plan on visiting there. Once again, great pics and editing!
One word- BEAUTIFUL.
I love Seattle! My brother lives across the water in Bremerton and we try to visit him as much as possible. I love the green and the rain and the Temple there is amazing!
If I could ever convince the husband to move away from the valley (he just loves it here so much!) that is the first place we would move!
That crepe is to die for........I so want one!!!
when i just saw your title i was going to write...we just saw Love Happens last night at cinemark and i was IN LOVE with seattle in that movie and i want to go there so bad. sooooo: will you and ted adopt me? so that when seattle adopts you, i can come along! whaddayasay?? BIG X BIG O
This post made me seriously hungry.
Seattle looks amazing. And the food, oh the food. Why must you do that to me? I want to EAT IT ALL now. Especially that clam chowder--I love clam chowder and that one looks like it was possible sent from heaven.
So, can you and the Tedward go ahead and move there so I can come visit and have an excuse to see Seattle? Kthxbye.
How fun! I've never been there. You made me want to go there... RIGHT NOW! That looked amazing. You are darling.
i remember my trip to seattle! loved it. went with the fam. if you like seattle, i think you'd love london! just went there a little while ago. architecture, fish n chips by the pier, beautiful gardens - definitely a must visit!
great photos btw! :D
My mouth is watering from the crepe photo! YUM! In my husband's job, Seattle is one of the few places he could get relocated to. I've never lived on the west coast, so I wasn't sure about it, but from your photos, just, WOW! It's so beautiful, and I would LOVE to live near that market!
Seattle is my hometown and I think it's one of the best places on the planet. Growing up there was awesome. You should try and come back at Christmas...downtown is amazing at Christmas. Wandering around when the whole city is covered in twinkly lights while sipping a Venti Carmel Apple Cider from Starbucks is one of my very favorite things!
So glad you loved our neck of the woods!
Fish Face Ted = HILARIOUS! :D
My favorite line:
"free is my favorite word.
so is peeta."
Love Happens made me BAWL. a lot.
Yeah, thanks. Now I'm homesick! We have been away for 4 years and you made me want to cry. I'm telling you not only is it like the coolest, most beautiful place to live...the people are awsome! Always green, always pleasant. It doesn't rain as much as everyone wants you to believe...but that is a secret...don't tell anyone...
Still haven't seen "Love Happens"...want to really bad!
Looks like you had a great time...I"d love to visit Seattle.
And I die laughing avertime I see that picture of that ridiculous fish.
oh girl . . . this post made me totally nostalgic . . . i grew up near seattle . . . and seeing those pics made me just want to go back RIGHTNOW! you didn't by any chance go to the Arboretum while you were there, did you? one of my favourite places as a girl growing up in the beautiful pacific northwest! :)
I don't know what I did to cheer myself up before I met your blog. I have tears in my eyes from laughing at your Tedwards first shot of you as you were sitting down. So dang funny.
And I just love all your Seattle posts. It's somewhere I've always wanted to go and you've done an amazing job recapping your visit. (Now I don't just 'want' to go.. but I HAVE to go.)
I've never been but it looks like a great city!!!!
so so so fun. I love visiting Washington! Avocados! mmmmmm my favorite vegetable ever.
bahaha! I was thinking that picture was horrible before I even read what you said. DEFINITELY Obama! what. The. freak?
ps. come on over to my blog, you're up!
I use to live there and it really is the most amazing city ever!! Next time you go, you have to go to Beechers it's right across the street from Pikes and it's a cheese factory with the most amazing macaroni and cheese and grilled cheese tomato sandwiches and of course tomato souppppp. I'm drooling right now thinking about it. Also right in the market there's a little homemade donut stand you may die over. Just a couple things to try!! :]
Love the pictures! It's like we could be there!
Thanks for another amazing post! =]
Y'all just made me want to visit Seattle even more than I previously wanted to!
Seattle..........I am going to go beg my dad to move me back there please.
Fun pictures, as always.
love that peeta is one of your favorite words. had a convo with my bestie this morning regarding peeta, and the fact that he is named after bread. slightly lame. but he is awesome.
you're killing me with the seattle thing. i totes want to move there. preferably in the not-so-distant future. it's gorge.
wow, seattle looks amazing!
i met someone at church yesterday who made $12,000 working at microsoft for the summer.
just another reason to relocate!
Glad you had fun! Seattle is a beautiful, awesome place. Clam chowder, fish and chips on the pier, even the goofy seagulls! Love the Public Market and all that healthful food, and oh, those crepes!!!
Now just be prepared...you visited during the best weather time of the year. Having lived there for nearly nine years I will just say, kiss the sun goodbye if you leave the valley because you are not going to see it except for July, August and September! It doesn't pour rain for nine months but a fine mist is always there and a low cloud ceiling hovers overhead. My baby boy asked at age two, on a particularly bright day..."Momma, what's that big yellow thing up there in the sky?" Oh my Arizona heart!!
Beautiful pictures of Seattle! Thanks for sharing!
I'm partial to the Clam Chowder over in Boston. There's nothing quite like some chowda in a bread bowl in one of the greatest cities on earth!! My dad works for US Airways, and we literally fly to Boston for the day twice a year just to get our chowda fix!!! :)
I have to agree with PRP...christmas time is so awesome. There is a cold nip outside, I have to go with the starbucks white chocolate mocha with whip, and SHOPPING! Next time you will have to explore Tillicum village, Mount Rainier, and..and..I could go on and on. Great post. I love the pics! Oh yeah, The Olympic Game Farm. you get to feed the bears and llamas and other animals.
I'm pretty sure I would get really fat if I lived there from wanting to eat fried fish and clam chowder all day every day!
I like Teds thumbs up in the wheres ted and Lauren market picture. Your pictures are great. They just remind me how much I need a vacay.
Seriously, Philip and I went to see that movie, and afterwards couldn't stop talking about how sad it was. We both CRIED a lot. Meanwhile, we did decided that Seattle is dreamy, and that we wouldn't mind visiting there. You two are lucky dogs. :)
I have AAAAAlways wanted to go to Seattle!! So beautiful! It looks like a lot of fun! My Man would NEVER let me take a picture of him making any sort of fish face! Ted is such a good sport!! (Did I just say Good sport? WOW!)
Ohhhhh snapples, that looks like sooooo much fun! I wannnnnnnnna go!
I heart Seattle too!! I feel so cultured there lol. It's only 3 hours from us so that is always great! Btw, I'm not sure if you got my header submission, but anyhoots, i sent it last thursday, so hopefully it makes the deadline! :)
Beautiful. From these photos and your recap of the story, I'm adding Seattle to my list of places I need to visit.
I heart Seattle too! LOVE IT! I can't wait to go back & visit again.
I've always wanted to go there and you paint a very wonderful picture xoxo

:)
I want to go now after seeing all these pictures! :)
To be honest...Seattle is a place I never really thought much about or had a desire to go. However, after all these fab posts about it and seeing how green and beautiful it is I'm dying to go! Your pictures are so fun.
PS: my day got mucho mucho better when I got home from student teaching, logged onto my blog, and saw I had a happy little comment from YOU! made. my. day! Thanks!
