have i ever told you i heart camilla belle?
i think i have...but whatev. she rules.
check out her glam outfits...
someone get me that dress NOW!
and then of course she has to be the cutest casual dressed girl EVER...
she totes rocks those skinny jeans and cardis.
love her. and i especially love that she isn't a skank-face.
cool beans.
question: do you dress for:
a. yourself?
b. for your significant other (or men in general)?
c. for other women?

I heart her. She is probably the prettiest woman in the world. Hands down. She is half american and half brazilian. Not fair, well it is fair she is just amazing.
Love her style.
Myself! and I'm not just saying that!
I can honestly say none of my friends dress the way I do. I like to feel relaxed and happy about my body in my clothes while still feeling "cool". So I dress to satisfy those requirements and no one elses!
Oh and my man, he couldn't care less what I wear. He says I always look cute and of course I believe him. :)
I'm third!!
Oh didn't answer the question, absolutely for myself. I love pulling off latest trends with a mix of classic.
It definitely depends on the day. But now that I think of it, a lot of times (like this morning) I dress for the way I see my day going or what I'm doing. So, for istance, I totally thought to myself as I dressed this morning "cute but studious girl in the cafe" because I was heading off to a cafe to study--I knew I wanted to be more comfy than dressy, but I still wanted to look nice. I have "library girl" days, which mean you can expect to see me looking NOT cute in a sweatshirt, glasses, hair in a messy pony because I mean bsns (usually too much hw/tests/essays to care what I look like.) So I guess my answer would have to be I most often dress with an idea of my day in mind. Wow, I'm a dork.
Love Camilla Belle. At first I wasn't totally wow'd by her, but the more I see of her the more I absolutely love her. I think she is so gorgeous.
I totally dress for myself. What makes me feel good, what I like, what I feel at the moment. I mean, I want other people to like what I have on, but how I feel is the most important to me. Maybe once I have a boyfriend/husband what he likes will play into what I like, but for right now it is all about what I like.
x, ash
Am I allowed to say all three?
I pick out clothes that I love and that I will enjoy wearing, so that's the major reason!
...but I always enjoy the compliments of othersl!
All of the above, depending on the day :) If I feel good about what I'm wearing, then I'll feel more confident, which will lead to more attention from Chris, my fiancee, and other women :)
I have to say I dress for me. I'm not just saying that either. I just don't really think about anyone else when it comes to clothes.
That polka dot-ish mini dress with red heels is so me!
Hmm, that's a tough one. I wear what I like, but I definitely make more of an effort when I'm going to see Adam. And I do enjoy being told I look cute by others.
Wait - I'm awful at leaving comments!
When I see other people with cute clothes, hellllo. I want to dress like them. But when I'm actually getting ready in the morning, it's just me. I get ready to feel like I'm ready to take over the day!
Definitely all of the above!
LOVE all of her outfits, except for that salmon-colored skirt. I don't know if it's just the way she's posing, but she kinda looks like she has "front butt." Just sayin'.
But, to answer your real question, I think the way I dress depends a lot on the occasion. I wish I could say that I didn't care what other women thought about me, but I do. Most days I just dress for myself, though.
Her outfits are totes cute!
I dress for myself. No significant other and when there is, the guy will have to love me in what I'm comfortable wearing. And everyone else has their own style why dress for them?
I think I dress for myself...and for other women. Most def not for ted...because he likes everything.
i rarely get ready for the day (feel bad for my husband). i like to take any special occasion , like going out to lunch with the girls, or a date with my husband, to remind myself that i'm not a complete mess. i coach volleyball for a living, so i barely put mascara on for game days....
i get ready for myself first, my husband is my next motivation, and of course my friends prob don't like to see me looking white trash!
lets go with D. All of the Above...I dress for me because it makes me feel good about myself. ...And also for other people...significant other/girls included. I want to look good to other people, but my number one concern is myself. I feel more confident when I dress well!!!
I love Camilla but I'd rather like her casual style.
To answer your question, I dress for myself on a daily basis. For special occasions though, I'll try to look great to other people (men and women)
I would say it depends...I generally dress for myself but if I'm doing something special with my hubby, I'll pull on something I know he loves. Doesn't everyone do that???
She is very pretty and has great style. I wish I had that confidence when I was her age! I'm just getting it now and I'm, ahem, quite a bit older!
there's just SOMETHING about that girl! the real it factor I say. (: xx
she is way cute! rocks the ruffles or slim lines just fine.
I dress for myself as well as others...
I dress for myself because i like to comfortable but than I like dressing up for others, i love a good compliment. who doesnt?
I buy my clothes based on what I like. Sometimes I'll even buy something even if I don't think it looks particularly smashing on me, if I really like it. It's more about what I like rather than how I look to others.
That said, put me in a crowd of women that I like, and I will worry about what they think of me - but only if I want them to like me for some reason.
Also, sweatpants are totally sexy. Who told you guys otherwise?!
gosh i love her gray outfit with the pink belt.
its so true...i use to dress just for the girls...
but now i'm totally dressing for myself and maybe to get a guys attention a little...
i'm still sexy when i dress for me.
great question! and thanks for posting all those wonderful outfits...gave me some style ideas.

Myself!! I love things that my husband tends to hate. He argues when I buy clothes but then says it looks good once I have it on.. I just have to remember that I love it!!
I heart Camille Belle too! I like that she works her looks to show of the good parts of her body but she doesnt actually SHOW the good parts of her body. Yeah a lot of H-Wood should do that.
As for dressing.. I dress for myself because i love fashion so much. Every part. I like all looks too, edgy, romantic, classic, hippie...I like to mix them all. But i also like to be really comfortable so I try to also dress for other woman so I don't get sloppy or stop caring enough about what other's think. It's like a little competition which when i win gives me a little boost of confidence. So yay Fashion!
I dress for myself.
I really rock the jammies.
I dress for myself, with some help from my sister, who is more fashion forward.
But sometimes i dress for the Men! Becauase they are tasty-rific!
I dress for me--and it's simply WHATEVER FITS ; )
Camille Belle is amazing. As for me... I dress for myself- to an extent. I want to look good, and if it's in style, then better yet! But if it is in style, and I just can't rock it.. I don't wear it.
Myself. I don't need to impress the hubby man....not that he'd notice anyway. :p and other women can bite me if they don't like the way I dress :p LOL sounds harsh, but I just don't care about what others think. If I want to go out in jeans, an old faded tee, and flip flops, I'll do it. I typically dress for comfort. Very rarely do I ever dress for style :p
myself.
when i don't feel cute, i'm less happy and less productive.
but if there are days where I simply don't care...then i don't put effort into how i look.
i dress for me. what i like. what i think is cute.
however, every once in awhile on date night, i dress for my hubby. cuz i love to show him that just cuz i know he thinks i'm naturally beautiful doesn't mean that i'm gonna stop trying.
that's always fun.
:)
Definately myself. However, I do like to make other girls turn their heads over something I'm wearing, it makes me feel like I am making a statement. What's "totes" I don't get it? I'm assuming it stands for totally ya?
Also, Camilla Belle is drop dead gorgeous..not to mention those men she's with, not fair.
Probably for myself and other women. I'm not trying to attract other men and my DH thinks everything I wear is great - except one dress which he calls my pioneer dress but he totally has it wrong - it's more of a 50's housewife look. Silly boy.
Anyway, I like to dress nicely and typically only wear jeans on the weekend. During the week I usually wear dresses or skirts with heels or ballet flats with "casual Friday" when I wear khakis or cords or something like that.
But when I'm preggo, none of that applies because I feel like complete garbage most of the time, don't leave the house much, and can't find much that fits anyway because I get so huge so fast.
Oh I love her style too! She's very glamorous! I wish I could wear those clothes! I definitely dress for myself most of the time. I like to feel confident in what I wear but occasionally I dress based off of the friends I'm hanging out with and what style they are going for that day or night: a dress or jeans and a cute top..I don't want to be too overdone or outdone either!
I wish I was her sometimes! I love her too! I don't dress up enough...that is going to be my New Year's resolution, at least one of them.
P.S. Dano has a man crush on Brad Pitt. Weird.
I'm going to be totally honest here. I used to think I dressed for myself. And it was true - to a point. I mean, I do feel better about myself and present myself to others in a better way when I feel good about how I look. But guess what? I've learned that really, deep down, I was dressing for my hubby. He's been in Iraq since January and you know what? I have no interest in getting all prettified on a daily basis since he left. Now, I do make some effort for church or when I go to my kiddos' school, but even then I'm not nearly as concerned with my appearance as I used to be. And it's not just that I'm lazy now. No, I still WANT to look good, I just don't have the motivation without him around to appreciate it! I find myself daydreaming about what outfits I'll wear and how I'll do my hair when he's finally home with me again! So, I guess I'll be the first to say...
I most definitely dress for my ultra-cute (and fashion senseless - so it's kind of pointless!) hubby!
LOVE her black and white dress!
For me...a and b
It depends on the day.
I love the green dress!! She is beautiful!
Camilla Belle is so stylish...I had no idea! I love her dresses! Um I get dressed for men...I am single and if I know cute boys are going to be there then I put the effort to get ready if not I usually don't haha.
I totally have worn a similar casual outfit, first picture under casual....I feel way stylish now. Out here in the Beev (Buena Vista, Virginia) I miss out on everything stylish it makes me sad.
Loves her. Dreamy.
Ok. I would have to say I dress for myself. I enhoy getting dolled up, finding new fashions, keeping up with the fashions, and what not.
I tell Allen he benefits from my shopping/fashion obsession so that I always look good when I am with hium [but i kinda just say that so he doesn't get mad at me for spending all my $$ on clothes].
I do like getting dressed up for him though, even though he likes me in pj's, dirty hair and no make up.
I don't think I dress for other women because I don't really care what other people think. As long as I am happy, then I don't need approval of my outfits from anyone else :)
She's a cutie.
I dress all of the above. I want it to be comfortable and make me look good and also be fashionable. If Scott doesn't like it... I just don't wear it. Except for that hat I was sharing with you the other day... I wear that for me!
she's absolutely stunning.
I dress for how I feel like. If I know we are going out and about, then heeeeeeeello outfits-that-took-three-hours-to-put-together. If not, then it's jeans and t-shirts all the way, hunny.
I dress for myself... and people make fun of me for it. I get dirty looks just because I don't want to dress like everyone else.
For myself. Clothes are about expressing yourself and how you feel in them. If I feel uncomfortable in something, I don't wear it.
dress for yo'self! who wants to live their life pleasing other people?! lame.
ummm, i think i would totally turn les for her, was that too much information for our new best friend-ness? oh well.
My sweat pants are telling me myself.
myself all the way.. if i cant comfortable, i wont wear it for long.
Camilla Belle is adorable. Love all of her outfits, and I love the way she rocks the casual look like it "ain't no thang" ;)
and I dress for myself...most days. All my life I never took any fashion chances, stuck with jeans and tshirts and school uniforms and never took any chances. My family never saw me as the fashion-forward one. Then one day I realized picking out clothes, mixing patterns, and dressing up could be...FUN. Im not going to lie, I take great joy when other girls heads turn in my direction but I have to dress for myself, otherwise I'd never be brave enough to take any chances :)
I wish I were a fashionista, but I just don't care that much. I try to look nice, but have never cared too much for trends. So I guess that means I dress for myself?
She is a classy lady. Too cute.
I definitely dress for myself. If I'm not comfortable in what I'm wearing then that fun personality isn't going to show as well. Plus, I feel the way you dress is a cool way to express yourself.
She is the perfect mix of classy & cute! I have a girl crush or two myself, I totally get it.
I dress for myself, but also as a representative of my family. I will never be a frumpy wife for my hubby, even though he always thinks I look cute, but I have these thoughts that others notice & in order for him not to be that girl who looks like she doesn't care enough to put something cute together. I don't know.
A casual skirt with flip flops or at least a cute top are what I roll with on a regular basis. Jeans & a cardigan in the winter are my average wear, but I guess I accessorize "for" other women, knowing that my girlfriends will far more appreciate a cute necklace or handbag more than my little boys :)
{Am I the longest commenter ever!? oh jeez}
I think I end up dressing for my husband... I think thats why I dont like almost anything in my closet! Not to say that my husband doesnt have good fashion sennse... he does but he does for a boy my whole wardrobe consist of plain t shirts and jeans becuase thats what he tends to pick out for me! I have only had boys opinions when it comes to my wardrobe and for that it has suffered! I look at so many cute girls wear so many cute things and wonder where on earth people come up with the things and wonder how I can do it! I need a fashion educator and a girl to go shopping with.....(what a pity party ha ha)
i love her as well!
so classy.
this post totally made me anxious to get my body back so i can dress it just like her!
too bad her waste is so tiny that it is almost depressing...
to answer your question...i dress for me. if i dressed for my spouse i'd be wearing t-shirts with my hair in a pony tail EVERY DAY.
okay. i've never seen pics of her..i've only seen her in one movie and after seeing this pictures...NOW i have a crush on her. her style is BEAUTIFUL. and i love her casual street style too. thanks for sharing.
oh. your question:
i dress for me. period. i wish all the time that i had more money so i could really dress the way i wanted. :)
Camilla Belle = Katniss Everdeen.
I dress for myself and for Dave. For myself, I carry myself much better in clothes that feel good and fit well, regardless of the size. As for Dave, he thinks I'm hot stuff all the time, and I'd like to keep it that way.
d) all of the above.
BUT if i'm going somewhere with a guy i will admit i definately go the extra mile.
Um hi... yes she can be Katniss!
As for who i dress for... i took this quiz from a 1950 magazine.. it was totally funny, but the results said i dressed for other woman, making me somewhat unapproachable. I don't think it was accurate AT ALL I wear what i want when i want, and have gotten many-a-stink eye from the fellow females. And as for being approachable... my honey has NO problem "approaching" me,( and that is the way I like it!"
Okay so mostly for myself, but other girls keep me on my toes and when I am not single I like to dress up for my man... so all of the above!
Here is a awesome girl on YouTube who I subscribe to covering this very question...ish:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCjcMZ2g6r0
Please watch it! I found it very interesting!
I dress for me!
Kinda hard to focus on that last outfit when Robert is in the picture... All the other casual outfits rocked though! I wish I looked that hot in skinny jeans...
she is so cute...great style! I dress for A and B...I care what my hubby thinks of my outfits and things he likes on me BUT I always end up choosing for myself and what makes me feel good...ex - my hubby hates when I wear headbands with LARGE flowers on it. I LOVE IT ;)
i dress for myself always. however, sometimes as i am dressing for myself, i can't help but think how good i will look for my boy!! :) bahaha. i think that is normal and i think it is a good thing!
I dress for three people:
1) Me. I dress for myself first. If I'm dressed in my sweats I feel gross. If I dress cute, I feel cute.
2) I dress for the Hubs. He doesn't ask me to, I just do. I don't want to be the frumpy housewife. I want to be the hot wife.
3) I dress for my daughter. She's only two, but I want her to learn that you can dress cute and chic without looking like a total skank. And I want her to learn how to dress cute without spending a ton. Growing up I had two older brothers and mom who never really taught me much about fixing my hair or coordinating outfits. I wore mostly hand-me-downs of my brother's clothes. I was teased A LOT. I'm not saying my mom was a bad mom, because she wasn't. I just don't want M to feel the way I felt. I want her to know how to dress, even if she chooses to wear sweats every day. I just want her to have the option and instruction.
I dress for myself. Sometimes I'm the only one who will ever see what I'm wearing (aside from Baby Boots) The hubby might not get home until late, so it wouldn't be worth it to do it just for him, I could probably get dressed late in the afternoon if that were the case. I don't do frumpy house wife.
all of the above... mostly for me though.
SHe is very gutsy. Very fashion forward. I wish I had guts like that :)
other women for sure. How dumb is that honestly? Please tell me i'm not the only one. I dont' have to try as hard anymore because student married wards are nothing close to student single wards. yikes.
gulp
I think I have a girl crush on YOU Lauren - but I am too old to dress as hip and be as fun anymore.
:)
I ADORE her! I love her sense of style and she looks so genuine.
btw, thank you so much for stopping by my blog! I'm so happy bc it brought me here:) love this place. I love your writing and your honesty.
Ehhhhhhhhh. That is the noise I make when I see Camilla Belle. Especially Camilla with Joe. She broked his heart Lauren! Not cool. I agree that designers dress her very well though. But TEAM JOE all the way baby. Not a Camilla fan AT ALL. I call her big face girl. Just like you call Vickie Horseface girl. Ha ha ha ha.
Cute!
She is my Katniss!
Love her :)
Oh, and I dress for my man!
I always dress for myself <3
i put on whatever feels right, and never regret my decisions even if there's someone in front of me trying to be THE coolest chick in the room just cause she's wearing something hip. I know that there are other ways to be the coolest among your group of friends.
Nice post, love Camilla too.
She's got a really nice style-.
