things that are fantastic...

want to know what i think is fantastic?

pin curls.

they are the bomb dot com.
all i do is curl the hair lightly with the curling iron, then i roll it up and pin.
once the hair is completely cool, i take the pins out, run my fingers through...and DONE.
srsly. best thing ever.

want to know what else is fantastic?

neighborhood carnivals.
the wonderfully talented Jenn, who decorated my wedding, planned the most amazing carnival last friday. there was freakin delicious ribs and pulled pork. there was the cutest decorations EVER....

there was a petting zoo that totally smelled like crap...in the literal sense...
but the animals were cuuuute!

there was this really cute couple there, and i took their picture...
oh wait?...aint no thing.

and hi. the mother of all awesomeness...
the saint of all things sugary and delicious...
the most beautiful thing in the world....

cotton.freakin.candy.

i would trade a mouth full of teeth if i could eat cotton candy for the rest of my life.
i would. srsly. don't even try to convince me otherwise.

srsly. get in my belly.

i think if more neighborhoods had block parties and carnivals, the world would be a better place.

like seriously. whatever happened to knowing your neighbors?? i don't know any of mine. maybe i should make cookies and bring them to them.

but i digress

pin curls=awesomeness

I heart cotton candy (or candy floss as I call it) I go to fairs for the sole purpose of buying it!

I wish we had parties like that!

Sigh... I wish I could make beautiful curls like you! Unfortunately, I have two left hands when it comes to doing stuff to my hair. The best I manage is a pony tail. I know. Sad.

That carnival looks fantastic! I love that first picture of the lights! And I sooooo wanna get me some cotton friggin candy right now! (Even though it's 11 in the morning...)

I forgot to ask: is Lauren's Bite only open to invited readers because you're redecorating? Will it be up again soon?

Cotton Candy is Fantastic! I could eat it till I get sick! Love the pin curls. My hair is naturally curly so I can usually do that to it, but it doesn't look as pretty as yours :-(

I really really wish I could love cotton candy. I do in theory. I like the way it smells and looks, but the whole melting and texture freaks me out.

Anonymous = bored and full of hate.

Anyway, I'm quite sad for me yet happy for you with your ability to have your beautiful hair curl. Mine does the Indian straight NOTHING ... I could put it in braids and consider scalping the unnecessary mean people of the world ... something to consider ...

Anonymous,

If you don't have something nice to say...

And Lauren, what color/flavor was that cotton candy? I've never seen yellow cotton candy! But maybe it just looks that color because I'm color-blind.

Dear Busy Bee Lauren Readers,
STOP posting rude comments.
for real, didnt your mamma ever tell you if you have nothing nice to stay dont say nothin'? She spends hours everyday writing posts to entertain us and then some people thank her by writing mean comments. Its rude. So stop.

PS. Lauren I love love love this post. The pin curl idea is amazing.

Alexandria said...

Yep Anonymous we are ALL sheep just following our leader The Busy Bee herself! Srsly? Get a life and shut it...it is Laurens blog...that means it is about HER life!

Ahh too cute! I missed the fair in my hometown this year, so I just lived vicariously through your neiborhood party & cotton candy :) I wish my hair could curl like that, but alas, it is straight no matter what! Really cute on you though!
& don't even pay attention to the anonymous haters. They're not worth it!

What is up with Anonymous @ 7:38???

I mean really...This is Lauren's personal blog about her life and such. Therefore, why would it not be about her? Anonymous @ 7:38 go spread your "hate-itude" somewhere else.

With that being said...Lauren I adore your blog. Because of you, I have read Hunger Games and am now reading Catching Fire.
Thank you!!
