This month is my blog's 3rd birthday. I started blogging at age 18, as a lonely girl who missed her boyfriend who was a on a mission. Sometimes I would talk about Ted, but a lot of the time I would just document my busy life.
That's what this blog has always been about...my life. Just a girl madly in love with a boy named Ted. A girl who likes to create, dream and be herself. A girl who sometimes has something funny to say. A girl who sometimes has something meaningful to say. But never a girl who brought about controversy on her blog.
I am truly baffled by all of the hate I have gotten as of late. Please, don't try to justify it, because it in no way makes any sense. There is no reason for someone to hate me for posting about my life. I don't do anything that deserves for someone to hate me. You don't like my outfit? That's cool...but that doesn't mean I am fat and that you should tell me that every day. Jealous that Ted married me? Welp, can't help you there...he has been in love with me since he was 16. Have a problem with every single thing about my life? Sorry, but you are crazy.
This blog was never meant to be read by a lot of people. It was mostly just for me to let my feelings out. A place of expression. It makes me sad that vicious people are ruining my fun. I feel raw. Exposed. Hurt. I hate feeling this way.
If you don't like me, or my blog, please leave. Let me live my life without you spreading your venom.

Why don't people understand that a blog is personal? If you're not going to accept somebody's feelings or opinions...GO AWAY.
Just know that you have WAY more people who love you than people who hate you. Like, WAY more. You are loved Lauren. Forget the haters :)

Here is my opinion: I think the hater(s) are probably only a few girls, maybe 2-3. And that the hate really isn't about you at all, they are just unhappy with their own lives and insanely jealous of yours.
So this is my theory. I think the said hater(s) are probably around your age, maybe a little bit older. They're LDS and most of their friends are getting engaged, married, and having babies. But these girls are not, which is making them question their self-worth and are becoming extremely jealous of those who have married for love and have a happy life. It's actually kind of sad... they are taking their frustrations out on a girl that they are envious of. And I think the whole MBP craze has really tipped them off, because you have become friends with the guys and yet these girls still can't get a date. And are now aware of what really goes on in the male mind.
Sorry for my novel, just thought I'd share my opinion that it really has everything to do with them, and nothing to do with you.

The simple truth is that darkness can't handle the light. When it sees a bright spot, darkness will immediately jump on that light and try to smother it out.
You are a light to the people you know (and even those of us who you don't technically know, but we read your blog). God has blessed you with many things, a heart for him, a loving husband and family, and an open friendliness that is refreshing in our world.
Somebody once told me that when you are being attacked by darkness, it just means it is threatened by you. That comforts me, in knowing that I am strong enough in my life and faith to be considered a threat. Whoever the haters are, they are only a tool of evil. I agree with the other readers who say it is just some jealous girls. I hope they find something better to do with their time.

I've been reading your blog for almost two years, and its the best! Its always funny and makes me smile, (being from Washingotn I was especially fond of when you came up here) Don't listen to the haters, they are just trying to start problems. You are a wonderful person and your blog rocks!
I guess there's gotta be opposition in all things, right? Haters suck but at least you can learn from them, like...
1. You are braver than any hater out there because you put your heart into your posts, & the haters have to hide behind an anonymous comment.
2. You love your life way more than any hater could, because after all, they're haters. If someone truly loved life there's no way they'd want to bring others down.
3. You have way better spelling/grammar than the haters, because seriously, either these people are in 5th grade or they failed English.
4. You can probably cook way better than the haters, cuz let's be real, I doubt there are many people who can cook better than you. Half the things you talk about making I've never even heard of. & maybe it's just me, but I don't see a hater whipping up a smoked salmon thing-a-ma-jiggy.
5. You're not retarded.
So the moral of this forever long comment is that haters can suck it. & You shouldn't feel sad because of them, you should feel sorry for them. Because your life will always be more meaningful than their's ever could be as a hater.
Anyway, it was cool seeing you at Chipotle that one night! I bet Phantom was awesome.
BBL do not listen to the haters. They are obviously morons (I am a lady, so I will say they are "morons" as opposed to what I'd like to call them). You are a beautiful, talented, slim, well-dressed girl (and someone else said above, I mean that in a nice, non-creepy way LOL). I love reading your blog, as it's funny and touching, plus I love the fashion advice (I am now the proud owner of some pearls and those berry tights from Target thanks to you!). In a nutshell, you ROCK!! And the haters can go crawl under a rock...the end. :)
I'm so sorry you are having to deal with haters. We would miss the comments but maybe it would be better not to have them? Then you wouldn't have to see any negative comments. Maybe just add a thumbs up option so that you know people are still reading and enjoying. If they dont enjoy they dont have to click the thumbs up.
Shame on people for making other people feel badly about themselves.

OK Lauren I know that this is way way way way random, but I just need some help! OK so I really like this kid that I have known forever! He is one of my closest friends but I have a huge crush on him haha I know its ridiculous! Anyways we were talking the other day about girls that he liked and he said that he thought of me as a sister, and I was thinking FML! ha I was so sad! I just don't know if I should tell him or what? I don’t know you personally but I love your blog. Day to day life is weighed down with serious woes of money (lack thereof usually), political, employment, and sadly marital/family problems that everyone deals with from time to time. Your blog is an escape from everyday burdens and gives ppl a chance to laugh and isn’t the best medicine laughter? As in most cases, misery loves company and try to bring you down. But thank you for opening up your world and giving ppl a glimps into what really matters…

I love to read yuor blog. I am a friend of Yvonne's in Canada. The adventure of newlywed Ted and Lauren is cute, and funny. I have a friend that had the same problem you do about people posting not so nice things about her and her family. It got bad as she lives on a small reservation in Northern Manitoba and would post pictures and comments from her perspective as the minority white woman with small child. Her hubby is a RCMP officer (yep the guys in the red serges and hot looking. Anyway Lauren don't give up delete the nasty comments and keep on keeping on. (Can't wait for Ted and Lauren's baby adventures---when they happen. Oh by the way I'm LDS too.

Hello! I somehow stumbled across your blog awhile ago and have been addicted ever since. I think you are hilarious and gorgeous and take wonderful pictures and seem like the sweetest person. I've never even been a blog follower! But yours is amazing, and anyone who hates is a loser. I feel your pain-I am a teacher and the students can be vicious. It's a tough thing to deal with. But stay strong! You rock!
I think your blog is great, and there is nothing wrong with posting things about your life... I do however have a suggestion if people are sending you hate mail... I have a blog myself and for a long time I had it set to private... only friends and family were allowed to view it, and only if I invited them... If your blog wasn't meant for a lot of people to read consider changing your settings or just ignore ignorant people... I have changed mine to public because I have advertised some things for one of my friends and have not had any problems so far so I hope it stays that way... I am sorry people have been hatin on your blog because I think it is fantastic!!!
I don't understand people sometimes. Why would someone go to a personal blog and then leave hateful comments and criticize the blogger on their own blog. If they don't like what you writing about your life then why do they come? They have a sad life if that's that the only way they can feel good about themselves.
I for one love coming to your blog. I love your sense of style (oh, and photography skills are awesome) and I usually leave your blog feeling inspired. You know, here's a young girl (I can say words like that ;-) because I'm older than you) that loves her husband, loves her church, is continuing her education , and you seem to be on a great path of self discovery. No one knows themselves completely, heck I'm still trying to figure out who I am and be brave enough to do the things that I want to in my head.
