last night, our christmas tree dieded.
just as some ladies were coming over from the new ward to greet me, the tree went *crash boom bang* sending ornaments everywhere...and some breaking in the great crash of '09.
i have been sad about it ever since. it literally extinguished all happy joyfulness.
i am not quite sure why i have been so affected by the tree-crash.
maybe it's the fact that my tree is half in my kitchen, half in my living room?
but more likely, it is PMS. you can blame anything on PMS.
dude. the other night i was making pizza with a Sprout's ready-to-bake crust, and when i took it out of it's packaging...look what we found:

first, what the honky is "friends for dollars"? is someone selling their friends for bank? because i have a few to spare. i like money. therefore i like this campaign. and i also like that it is a contest. secondly...and more importantly...holy HUGE coupon. who in their right mind would carry that continent of a coupon to the store to use? i mean, c'mon now. why did it need to be that big?
ted was confused by the coupon as well. you see, ted is a bit anal about wasting things. and he thought the waste of that much paper was ridiculous. i think his eye twitched.
a couple nights ago a couple in our complex made us chocolate chip cookies to welcome us.
i was so touched. seriously. how sweet were they to think of us? love it.

i also love that i finally was able to use my hootie cookie jar for the first time! w00t.

Yay! I love it. I bet that the pizza place thinks that the bigger the coupon, the more you think you're getting. (even though you're really only getting a dollar off)
As for your tree... HOW DID IT EXPLODE?? Was it legit pine? Hm...
it's awful when trees come down. a couple years ago, mine was on top of me. i cannot tell a lie.
that coupon is massive. srsly. i don't see the need.
and i pretty much want to come to AZ and steal your cookie jar =]
I bake our neighbors cookies about once a week. Not that I'm being so nice as that I want to bake but don't need them sitting there tempting me! I want a cookie jar. Bad. Tell santa for me would ya.?
Christmas trees falling over is one of the saddest things ever. Ours fell a few years ago. We thought someone was breaking into our house. Anyway, I haven't commented in quite some time, so I figured I would just tell you how adorable you are and such! :)
First!?
Lauren, that coupon is seriously so funny, and so crazy big! Haha.. sorry about your tree... a christmas tree is like a friend you invited over for a month always there to welcome you home. And it's like your stay for holidays friend just went a bit it. :( AND... that hootie cookie jar is to die for. I want one!!
You guys are a HOOT! Get it? Hoot? Cutie-pie owl cookie jar, and I said Hoot? I'm awesome. Just sosya know. ;0)

so sad about your tree. i have a friend at home in oregon who's had this happen every year. definitely not recommended. hope you are able to breathe life into your tree again...because it wouldn't be a holiday without a festive tree!
holy huge coupon, batman!

awwwwww falling Christmas trees is always a bad deal. Our's has fallen a couple of times. No good.
Your cookie jar is the cutest!
uhm i am in LOVE with that cookie jar.
i've always wanted a cookie jar... but... cookies never seem to last long enough round these parts to put them in a jar... perhaps i can store vegetables in one... veggies seem to last me FOREVER...
So my boyfriends grandma has this blue baby owl thing in her bathroom and it has lights coming out where feathers are I think.. (I never saw it turned on because his grandma thinks lamps will start a house fire) ANYWAYS... When I saw it I thought of you and all your cute owl things like the cookie jar in that picture :)
Tree crash? NO
Huge Coupon? NO
Hootie Jar? YES
Holy huge coupon. That's so sad about your tree :(
rip tree of gLee
that coupon looks more like a frisbee to me. how odd, but i love that your neighbors were kind to you. also, i think you and ted ROCK at the faces game.
aww you can set up the tree again, don't feel blue coz of that
i keep seeing all this owl stuff everywhere and i always reminds me of you!
and that is one HUGE FREAKING COUPON. what the french toast?!
Ugh...sorry about your tree but freakin' holy coupon batman...who came up with that
haha, the picture of ted made me laugh out loud. you guys are so funny.
Duuuuude...that stinks that your tree dieded! But if it makes you feel any better....ours did, too. We decorated it Wednesday night at 8 pm, and at 5:30 am Thursday morning our 2 cats decided to knock it over. They broke 3 ornaments and I cried (mine crying fit was pregnancy-hormone induced, not PMS). I, too, am affected by the tree-crash. I feel you.
That coupon is totally random!
oh and sorry about your tree... that happend to us when I was little! I cried and cried cause I thought Santa wouldn't come...
I want a cookie jar like that!
I am sorry about your tree. That would be epicly terrible. :( Christmas trees=make you happy. Broken Christmas trees=suck.
I'm sorry about your tree. That really stinks. :(
That's so nice that your neighbors brought you cookies. Love the cookie jar!
I love that you actually put cookies in your cookie jar! I swear no one does that anymore. And such a fantastic cookie jar too.
This is one of my favorite posts of all time. The blaming PMS, the ginormous coupon, the anal wasting guy (just like my dad),and to finish it off, the adorable hootie. Well played.
ps, why haven't i come to collect my disk? i am dumb.
You should say "hoot" instead of "woot" for the cookie jar! :P
Holy huge coupon is right batman!
Oh no! Your tree :( I feel so sad for you! Sorry Lauren!! :(
My tree is already dried up and molding if it makes you feel any better! At least they said we could exchange but that also means we have to set up AGAIN. ugh.
That was so sweet of your neighbors! Mine don't even talk to me...
Love the hooty jar! :)
I feel your pain about the tree, with 2 little boys running my house, mine falls down at least once a year. And don't even get me started on ornament loss. I now have a "family" Christmas tree (for the fam of course) and a "Fancy" Christmas tree that holds all the nice or expensive ornaments. It sits way up high and out of reach. And now the only part of the falling process I worry about is the water spilling everywhere.
You and Ted win for best facial expressions! ha-ha
How come the tree fell?
We have had several tree crashes over the years! All were tragic as in lost ornaments. Only one time did it actually fall on someone....pretty traumatic if you were said child! And only one time did someone, namely my 80 year old mother, fall into the tree! Oy! Everyone laughed and she survived!
I would need a bigger purse for that coupon!!
Lovely neighbors you have!!
I know you probably hate to be pestered with post requests... but I can't help myself. Will you *pretty please* post pictures of your new house? The color of your walls is a minuscule glimpse and I want more! Show me more!
Haha, Allison was first :)
Seriously, are they serious about that coupon??
Haha. Ted's face. :)
The coupon is awesome-ly baffling.
Oh no, about the tree! That happened to us many years ago, caused of course, by the cats (who attempted to climb said tree and of course, there was precious ornament loss). Due to the increased amount of cats, we now have two little trees instead of one, and all ornaments are glass-look and non-breakable. Plus, no tinsel anymore either (the cats eat it). But I do make them pose for pictures in Santa outfits, so it makes up for it LOL.
Oh, and you are lucky to have awesomespice neighbors that make you cookies (none here, sigh). We did once have neighbors many years ago (actually it was the same apartment when the tree dieded) who truly wanted to kill us because they claimed to hear us walking and using the bathroom past 9pm (which was apparently unacceptable to them even though the man who complained didn't work and blasted the stereo all day long - they were truly the neighbors from heck!!). We at least have polite neighbors now LOL.
Oh, and I love the cookies and the cute cookie jar!
