fringe.

i have been wanting bangs for a while, so my mama (who is an excellent hairstylist) decided to be awesome and cut me some today.
she told me the cooler, and prettier name for bangs, is "fringe".
i am going to adopt that...because really, "bangs"? it's a that's-what-she-said joke just waiting to happen.

and here's the finished product! i heart them. thanks mama face!
oh...and sorry for the crappy image.
my phone is my back-up camera when i am in a hurry or too lazy to pull out a legit camera.

hope you all are having a happy weekend!

I had bangs like that before. They were awesome. Then I made them swoop-to-the-side bangs. It worked better for me.
But straight bangs are awesome.

Very cute! They look great! I loved when I had fringe. Unfortunately side swept bangs won out in the long run.

I love them! I can't pull them off with how long my hair is, but how I would love to as mine are at that awkward growing out length. You could be like Zooey's twin blonde sister :) PS: I'm loving Jspice's comment.

Cute!
I decided before Christmas I wanted a fringe like that but I'm not as sure now; I already have a round-shaped face and getting bangs like that would make it even rounder. So I'm still deciding.
We call them "fringes" here but I actually like "bangs" better, it sounds kinda cooler :P

I love to call my bangs fringes! My sister got me in that habit when I was little! It is a much better word! Much more fun! Your fringes look awesome!

Love the new fringe! Sooo cute!:) Who came up with the term "bangs" anyway?! i think they had a dirty mind.

Your fringe looks fantastic. So cute. I've been thinking about getting some fringe myself, but haven't gotten around to actually doing it...I always chicken out when I think about getting something different done to my hairs...

Jenn said...

The fringe is adorable! I would love to have some myself, but my hair is naturally curly - and even though I straighten it every day, if it is rainy or humid - let's just say, my "fringe" would not be pretty.
BTW - tried your method for adding some shape/loose curls to my hair -LOVE IT!!!!! Thanks for the "how to!"

Very cute, Lauren.
Fringe is what we call it here in Australia.

becky said...

your fringe really suits you.
words that are really commonplace here (uk) and not used so much in america always amaze me. or words that are used in both places but mean different things. odd.

Total Fanpires said...

In Australia, we call it fringe anyway :)

Girl101 said...

hahahaa fringe isn't a cool word, its what what us kids in england call bangs. i prefer bangs anyday. thats what she said.

they look really good, lauren!
all this food on you blog is making me hungry. it all sounds soooooo yummy. i'm off to make some croutons... for real.

my name is lauren. said...

i love the bangs! i always cut mine, then grow them back, but i always go back, because i love having long hair and nothing changes it up quicker thank some lovely "fringe". they always make me feel instantly more chic and make me want to put more effort into what i'm wearing...which i'm sure my hubs appreciates (as much as i'm sure he loves a good pair of yoga pants) :).

I'm not a fan of the word "bangs" either. Whenever I read or hear it the only thing I can think of is that Ricky Martin song "She bangs, she bangs...". I know it doesn't mean the same thing but that's the true. Anyway, your new fringe looks fabulous on you!
