i see that sentence from the naysayers every once and a while, and it really bugs.
here is the deal. yes, sometimes life sucks.
sometimes we don't have very much money, and then a random bill comes in the mail.
sometimes we get flat tires, that cost an arm and a leg.
sometimes ted get's a ticket for not registering his truck, and then happens to not have his proof of insurance with him when the cop pulls him over.
sometimes i have a ginormous growth in my boob and the doctors won't take the time to figure out what it is.
sometimes we really don't like living in our crazy apartment.
sometimes life just stinks, but we do what everyone else does...keep trucking along.
we count our blessings.
we do fun things together.
we are grateful for each other, our family and our friends.
we are grateful for our jobs.
we are grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ.
we are grateful that we can continue our education.
we are thankful for life experiences that bring us closer as a couple.
we are CREATING happiness, instead of dwelling on the life-crap.

I don't think people should be getting after you for being positive. Plenty of people are whining about how much their lives suck. It takes effort to focus on the good.

You dont live in La La Land. Life is hard sometimes even when our lives really arent that hard compared to others. I struggle with being an young adult that shouldn't rely on my parents anymore and has to rely on myself and my husband. Sometimes I secretly wish my dad would just take care of me. I guess thats how it goes though. It amazes me that I have friends my age with 1 or 2 kids. I couldnt handle that. I still have a lot of growing up to do before I am responsible for molding another little person while they grow up.
In life 10% is what actually happens to you and 90% is how you react to it- keep your chin up :)

Thank you for always being positive..recently my family and I went through some stuff that was really, really hard and my mom she told me that I could do it and that yes it sucked but there was a silver lining in there somewhere. It wasn't what I wanted to hear, but it was true. Life sucks sometimes, but there are so many moments that make the suckiness so worth it..I thank God for the amazing days...so go you, being happy rules!

i love this post, refreshing, great! i remember laughing one day when i got a flat tire and everyone who i told said, 'OH NO!!!' like it was a tragedy of sorts. when the worst part of our day is getting a flat tire or a ticket or a fender bender, we live a charmed life.
The difference is that those who choose to focus on the crap only ever see the crap. Those of us who create happiness get to have many more experiences that are great.
They just don't get it.

Hmm I'm not going to lie, I used to be one of the nay-sayers of your blog (privately, of course, its mean to be mean in public). But now I sort of love you.
