lauren's mail bag.

Dear shoes,

Sierra and I are thankful you were on clearance. And that you were available in 6 for Sierra, and 8 for me. We love you.

Dear tights,

Thank you for having polka dots. And for being legit. And for making my legs look smaller than they are. One thing: next time be on clearance like ^shoes. mmmkthanxbye!

Dear "17 Again",

I watched this part 4 times on Saturday. I am not ashamed. I will fight anyone who thinks this isn't the best part of the movie. The only thing I regret about this scene was not capturing The Efron's face clearly. Dag Nabbit!

Dear TV,

I am completely ok with the fact that we are the only people on the planet who doesn't have a flat screen. We might not have one, but we don't have ANY debt. Represent!

Dear lunch on Saturday,

You were delicious and oh so healthy. Roasting the tomatoes for 3 hours was an awesome decision. WIN!

Dear random sandwich found in my car,

Oh, that's where you went. Awesome.

Dear people looking to promote their business or blog,

I am now accepting sponsorships for the month of February. With over 5,000 hits a day and almost 1,000 followers you can get lots of exposure with an ad on the BBL blog. Contact me for affordable rates!

Dear Ted,

I love you. Especially when you rubbed my feet last night. And when you took over 20 boxes to the post office today, because you know how much I hate the post office.

Love, Me.

You are so right about 17 Again. That is the best part, so much so that they could have just put that on repeat for the entire DVD and I would have been happy.

LOVE the shoes!

I LOVE roasted tomatoes! So good!

That is so sweet of Ted to go to the Post Office for you :)

I love that your tv is a Daewoo. That is pretty legit.

I don't have a flat screen either, I can't fathom paying 1200 for a TV that just looks better. Not in my budget and I am not crazy!

Love the shoes, awesome Ted!

Don't hate me, but I've never seen 17 Again....

Also, my (now ex) and I didn't have a flat screen either. The only reason I have one now is b/c Santa brought it as a break up present b/c the TV was the ex's...

My seven year old says you tomatoes look scrumptious..lol..and your shoes are super cute...flat screens are over rated anyways..lol..

That scene on 17 Again, where he comes out of the car, throws on his leather jacket and sunglasses *swoon* Zac Efron is La Hot right there.

Hey L, don't feel bad about the flat screen..we didn't have one either until the "MAN" decided that HE HAD to have one so he bought one this Christmas for himself! I did not contribute! I was completely ok without one!

Trina said...

Oh my gosh! I love those tights! Hey, don't feel bad about the TV, I don't have a flat screen either, but I'm looking into getting one with my awesomely sweet bonus I get this month! That's only because my current TV doesn't like to turn on, but otherwise I'd proudly represent the old school tube TVs. I think BBL should post some of her fabulous looking recipes!

Lauren,

I found your blog about a week ago and I'm hooked. I've read through numerous entries already ;)

Also, Represent for not having any debt! I only have a flat screen because my parents bought it for me for my birthday.

LanaBanana said...

Hey (I work with your mom at the salon)! Anyway, tights, shoes, food and Zac are all a 'check yes' from me. I know Zac is too young for me, but at least he's not a teenager anymore so swooning isn't so yucky. Plus I'm married, but the husband understands my crush, so it's cool.

I feel shame that I don't have the inner-strength and sass to sport such head-wear as you create. I mean, I'm a hair dresser---I should just do it. But it seems to always look better on someone else than my own head. They're cute though. :)

I don't have a flat screen. And I'm sooo ok with that.

Connie said...

Dear Lauren,
We're twins! Well... just about the not-in-debt part. Nothing else on your list has happened to me. Sadly.
(well except I'm not sad about my awesome TV.. blu-ray is out of this world too- I must say. You can come over and watch anytime :p

We don't have a flat screen either. Actually until my coworker upgraded to a flat screen and gave us his bigger television our only television was my in-laws original color television. The thing is over 20 years old.

Emily said...

I don't even own a t.v. and I am ok with that aw well, and so is my husband!

Busy Bee Lauren said...

You all can get the shoes at Target...if there are any left! And the tights are from American Eagle. 13 bones a pair...which is more than I would ever pay, but they had polka dots! Hello!

Yay, I am glad I am not the only one without a flat screen, after all!

Visible Voice said...

We don't have a flat screen either. We are saving up to go big or go home with it! Rock on boob tubes!

I don't have a flat screen either--and sometimes I still watch movies on VHS tapes.

I like how half of the people are commenting, "I don't have a flat screen either." ;) And to keep things going...I don't have a flat screen either. :D

Jenny said...

Where did you get those shoes??? Cause I am pretty sure I have them in blue! From Target!!!

Brit O'Connor said...

I have a BOMB massive flat screen, and no debt! :) Life is better in HD!

Busy Bee Lauren said...

FYI, I'm not saying everyone that has a flat screen has debt. I was just saying, "hey, we are too poor for a TV but on the bright side, we don't have debt!" hahah.

Good times.

I'm sad that there is no such thing here as American Eagle. At least I have a dress with that exact pattern and shade (just in a different fabric). Little polka dots are too pretty.
I don't have a flat screen either! I barely watch tv anyway.

Abi said...

Are those shoes from Target? If they are...I almost bought them as well...but they did not have my size.
Also- I do not have a flat screen either, so you are not alone!
Aaand Ted MUST love you taking all those boxes to the post office- I hate it too..the other day I had to mail a package to Baghdad, the lady didn't know where that was......
I just stared at her.

Brown Girl said...

Love the letters. We just got a flat screen but no debt cause you know what...bad economy make for cheap tv's, win for me! But not for economy. ;) Just sayin

Nyssa said...

not gonna lie, I really didn't know what the tomatoes were til you said it, and they looked pretty gross. But that's okay I hate tomatoes

Dear Lauren,

I love your "Dear" post!

I must know where the shoes came from! My daughters will be asking!

Debt is EVIL! We have four TV's and not one of them is a flat screen. I suppose as they die they shall be replaced (if we have the $$ saved!)

20 boxes to the post office?! Ted is the Man! You are either feeding a third world country singe-handedly or you are selling a lot of head bands! Woo hoo!

Brittany said...

BY THE WAY... WE ALSO HAVE A DANG LAME TUBE TOO!!! HAHA DOESNT IT SUCK? SO YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE. :)

Molly said...

Erm......I think I might need those shoes... :D

Jenn said...

I love your blog! It's one of the first ones I read each day when I get to work...always starts my day off with a smile! :) You are not the only ones without a flat-screen...we do not have one either.
Funny story...I was given a bunch of hand-me-down maternity clothes, including some waaaay cute little skirts - but I refuse to wear them in the frosty tundra known as Pennsylvania because I cannot find any cute maternity tights to wear with them! So sad.

Ashton Dene' said...

I don't have a flat screen, but I do have debt. lame. That's one of my resolutions this year, get out of debt. for reals. It is going to be hard, but I think I can do it.

Love the shoes & tights & Efron in that scene. As well as Ted going to the post office. Headband is on it's way!!!!!!

you really roasted those tomatoes for 3 hours? i bet they tasted amazing. those eggs look amazing. i might have to make some for dinner. mmm

bonbonmilk said...

hahaha that was probably one of the funniest stories I've read in a long time. I haven't farted in front of my boyfriend yet unless I did it in my sleep and he heard me.. haha oh well it will happen eventually. I have pooped at his place but he has some very strong cinnamon spray so its all good. When we first started dating I would wait until he went to work or I would go somewhere else to do the deed, but I ate some spicy food one day and it was an emergency.. When it comes to farting guys think it is funny anyways so if and when it does happen at least I won't be too embarrassed :p
