happiness.

ever since i bought the instax mini, i have been wanting the instax 210, which has wide film.

when my parents got me it for christmas, i SQUEALED! and then laughed.

you guys...this is a HUGE camera. it doesn't really look like it here, but it is seriously ginormous.

i can't wait to bust this thing out and go, "BAM!" because this thing is like it's own continent.

i received the film for it today, and dare i say it...i might like this camera better than a polaroid?

GAH! i had to say it...i dared myself. i'm just kidding...i'm not sure i like it better, but it's a great alternative!

the film is wider than a polaroid but still holds the same color qualities of an original polaroid.

best part? film is only about 20 bucks for a pack of 20.

i think this is a great start to a wonderful camera relationship.

seems like everyone is making a 2010 recap post, so i decided to show you my favorite images of 2010. one of my goals for this year was to really practice a lot and get better at photography. after looking through my archives, i am happy with my progress :) here is to 2011!

wreck this journal: take 1

i'm a perfectionist.

however, not in all aspects of life. i only seek perfection in myself. and often fail.

so when i learned about "Wreck This Journal" on Diana's blog a few months ago, i was intrigued.

basically it is a journal book that is MEANT to be destroyed. each page gives instructions...and you must follow.

and since i loathe self-help books, i thought owning this book would be very therapeutic.

i was so excited ted gave it to me for christmas! so now i will document each task on the blog.

i think it shall be fun :)

that time gizmo gave us a special surprise.

despite what some of you think, we really do love gizmo equally to bun-bun.

he is just super awkward to take photos of...so thanks to my new Flip-cam, here is a vid of him...

that time i told you i am shy.

this is my mother-in-law, Colleen.

Colleen raised nine kids. yes...nine. that is a whole lot of kids...and whole lot of time spent being pregnant.

anyway, i really love Colleen.

let me tell you a little story about me.

you see, i am really, really, really shy. super shy. and quiet.

so shy, sometimes people think i am stuck up, just because i am too afraid to talk to people.

i often have a hard time growing close to people, because i am afraid of not being accepted.

i like to stick with a few close friends or people that i KNOW will love me no matter what, because it'ss safe.

and i don't think a lot of people understand that about me.

i really wish i could be closer to a lot more people...but it takes time. and trust. and understanding.

i often envied how a lot of married couples merged so easily with their in-law-families.

as if, they had known them their whole lives! so amazing!

then there is me, who is so shy, and careful...and worrisome. i don't know why.

but i have learned that with me, i need time. i need time to warm up to people.

i need time to show people slowly who i am.

and i need time to see if they love me the way i am.

i am so glad to have Colleen in my life, along with everyone else in the Brimley family.

yes...that is my last name. everyone seems to know it by now anyway. hope a bomb doesn't go off.

anyway, Colleen is awesome. she truly is a great mom, and a great person.

and i am glad to have her as a mom-in-law :)

that time it was early on christmas

we woke up at 5:00 AM on Christmas morning so that ted & i could open presents from each other.

we then headed over to my parents house at 6:00 AM for our annual super early present opening.

no sleeping in for us :)

christmas morning highlights include:

1. my parents gave me a guitar! this will help me reach one of my goals for 2011. ♥

2. ted found the pickle on the tree! one of our traditions is my mom hides the pickle, and whoever finds it gets a special surprise gift. sierra won 2 years in a row...so it was nice ted won this year!

3. Mac was extra cute, and extra fun to have around this Christmas!

4. my mom played a trick on each of us. she wrapped 1 of each of our gifts in at least 40 layers of newspaper. it took about 10 minutes to unwrap the gifts. we really wanted to beat her up. or get revenge.

5. yet again, my parents filled their stockings with coal...because they think they are so funny, ha!

6. ted was really good with the gift giving this year. i got basically an entire new wardrobe of vintage clothes, pink headphones, a flash for my Diana+, film for my cameras, nail polishes, lots of books and A FLIP CAM! i am so excited! i took a little video of Christmas morning with it...
