the doctor & rose

So this year, I put a lot of time and energy into our costumes. I spent many evenings searching the internet and saving images to my "doctor/rose" file on my computer. Here's a sample of where I drew my inspiration from:

Ted's costume was easy enough. I ordered him a brown pinstripe suit. He already had some chuck taylors, a blue shirt and vintage tie. I found some inexpensive tortoise shell readers on amazon, and a legit sonic screwdriver to finish off the look :)

I ended up settling on Rose's 50's outfit from the Doctor Who episode, "The Idiot's Lantern". I did a lot of scouring on ebay and etsy, and ended up finding the perfect vintage dress. I then found a vintage petticoat that was the perfect length. I borrowed the perfect cropped jacket from my mom, added some dark tights and pink sunglasses...and this is how it turned out:

i wore this outfit today as i made stuffed pumpkins, and had some of our favorite friends over to carve pumpkins and watch a spooky movie. i think the rust tights were the perfect way to turn what was a summer dress, into a fall frock :)

"instant wednesday" on not a wednesday.

this is a polaroid from tuesday using my spectra camera and color shade film from impossible project.

as i drove home from work, i couldn't help but be mesmerized by the beauty of the sky. such beautiful clouds, and with the sun setting, it created the prettiest colors in the sky! just one of the little things i am grateful for! i rushed in and grabbed one of my polaroid cameras knowing i wanted to document a little piece of it's beauty :)

and along with this pola, i have created another mini playlist for you. it has a little 90's flava for your day! hahaha! enjoy :)
