also...this needs to be discussed.

I know no one will care about this but me, but I HAVE to post about it because I have been laughing about it for almost 3 hours now. So, those that are close to me know that I am quite a celebrity gossip afficianado. I have only found one friend that matches my love for some good celebrity gossip, and that is my girl Shannon. Each day we recap on the daily celebrity fodder and we also predict what might happen next. Sorta pathetic, but oh so fun.

 

One of my favorite people to talk about with Shannon is freakin' Vanessa Hudgens. Here is the thing...I have never really liked her, but Zac Efron was so dang adorable with her, that I put up with her. Well, when they split at the end of 2010, I have found myself amazed by her single life. One, her fashion choices went down the crapper. She started acting weird. And she now has a ridiculous boyfriend. But let's backtrack for a second...

 

So, when her and Zac broke up, she was in Hawaii filming Journey to the Center of the Earth 2...aka, a movie I will never see because it looks about as awesome as the single ply toilet paper that my mom buys from Walgreens. Yeah...the worst. In our house? We like Cottonelle...double ply, please. Anyway, even my great love for Josh Hutcherson cannot drag me to that crap fest. Well, anyway, she was in Hawaii filming that movie, and since Josh is a cutie, and since Zac broke things off...it would only make sense for Vanessa to have a rebound, right?

 

Right.

 

For months after, Shannon and I followed the awkward embarrassment that was the Vanessa/Josh rebound. You could tell from the photos that Josh thought they were the real deal and he was GIDDY to be with her. And she always had a smug look on her face like, "I dated Zac...and we broke up...but I DO NOT care." But inside she was dying. Because she probably saw the trailer for "The Lucky One" and died. I mean, have you seen it? Anyway...to Vanessa the little dates to the Lakers games, to Coachella, and her hitching rides on the back of Josh's motorcycle? Yeah...they were just a rebound. And as someone who has loved Jsh since Bridge to Terabithia, I was so sad for Josh. And this was BEFORE he was cast as Peeta.

 

Okay, so get this. Vanessa goes on the Ellen show, and Ellen of course asks her if she is dating Josh...when they were just seen holding hands! HELLO! And Vanessa flippantly rolls her eyes like, "PULEAZE." And goes, "Ha! No. Can't a girl have friends?!" And then the issue is dropped and Vanessa is never seen with Josh again. She was DONE with that rebound.

 

Well, you know how when actors get interviewed for magazines it's done like months in advance before the issue gets printed? Well, like 3 months later there is an article in Teen Vogue where the interviewer asks Josh if something is going on with him and Vanessa and he basically fangirls all over her. Which means the interview was probably done before Vanessa went on Ellen. Which makes Josh look foolish...because gosh, "Puleeeeaze! Can't a girl have friends?!"

 

Something has bothered me about this whole thing for a long while because from everyone's point of view, she treated the poor boy like crap. Plus, he got cast as Peeta later on...and you don't burn the boy with the bread! Haha...don't you love the pun? I am awesome.

 

So, today when Shannon sent me the most glorious of all news articles, I laughed. And I have been laughing ever since:

 

 

This is a screencap taken from a video that was live this morning. This was right when the interviewer asked if they had dated, and instead of letting Vanessa make him look like a fool, Josh jumps right in and says this: "We were at one point, but she broke my heart. No, I'm just kidding, that was a while ago, we're really good friends now."

OH HOW I LOVE A GOOD BURN.

 

You know that the "No, I'm just kidding" was constructed for us to find him still adorable and charming...but at the same time let us know that she burned him good. And he is still annoyed as heck about it. Especially that she now has a gross boyfriend. And SHE BURNED THE BOY WITH THE BREAD. Plus, check out his monochromatic outfit...awesome.

 

But really, her face is the best thing I have ever seen.

 

And he is like, "I am Josh Hutcherson. Star of one of the biggest franchises ever. The end. Goodbye!"
